Anyone that saw Battle Start Galactica 2003 and thought that their their "space actions camera moves/zooms" style was actually an original idea, you are SO WRONG.

BSG 2k3, starting with the 3rd season snore-fest & its brain dead ending, sucks dry crusty donkey balls compared to Firefly.

Phil I'm not saying this to be a douchebag or somethin but this movie is AWESOME if u watched firefly but if u didn't it's like OK. Firefly had a certain captivating and homely athmosphere like nothing in most Sci-Fi shows and translates to the movie pretty well(more fast paced ofc). There appear to be acting and plot problems but if you watch Firefly 1st it all fits in the context and you'll have a Much better experience of it, trust me.

Serenity/Firefly is one of those franchises that you either love or hate, like the "Rebecca Black" entity... No, everyone hates her. Anyway I saw the movie before the series and thought it was pretty good. A year later and having watched the series I have much more respect for the film. To be fair, I think Joss made this movie, mostly for the fans of the series. It was, a little bit of closure.

Serenity is even better after watching Firefly because the show really makes you care for the characters.

Also I think a few of the actors gave better performances in Firefly. They seemed less at ease in Serenity which makes sense because I'm sure there's a lot more pressure to perform well when you're starring in a major motion picture. I wouldn't call them terrible though like that one guy in the video reviews.

After having marathoned all of Firefly last summer and then watched Serenity, I gotta say you really have to watch the series in order to fully appreciate it. Because you love (or hate) the characters more when you see episodes dedicated to them and to their dynamic as a team. It's really unfortunate that the series had to be wrapped up in a movie, but the movie pulled it off very well in the time span it got. I just might rewatch this series after finals.
