  • At first I thought I trout it said "fighting man from mexico" haha

  • they also offered in sears catalog a GI Russky complete with burp gun and a GI North Korean and of all things a GI english limey they made good enemy GI Joe dolls or action figures or puppets whatever they were

  • @atfatw 'english limey' Isn't that sort of redundant?

  • @fatty, there is a lot of people who don't know what a limey is

  • @atfatw Well that's their problem, it's sort of like explaining a joke.

  • Well f**k yea! I didn't know that G.I. Joe was a Marine.

  • U guess that cobra came much later.

  • dang, nowadays i can only find a pile of prevy japanese figures in toy shop,

instead of those truely awesome G.I.JOE figures above, i miss old days...

  • My dad gave me all his old g.i.joes and now im a huge g.i.joe fan (both 12 inch and 3 3/4) and Im 18 :)

PS: Whats all this talk about propaganda? Jeez you cant say anything anymore thats why they only show g.i.joe cartoons on the hub channel and not anywhere else.

  • they didnt sell bad guys with the old ones

  • G.I. Joe was great and a hell of alot of fun. Man up you liberal candy asses and stop slamming Joe for it"promotion of war". What the hell did your parents do to you young people today? Bunch of self indulgent, spoiled spineless bags of crap.

  • Now if you read (judging by how you spell, I'm not sure if you really can) You will see that I agree, it is propaganda.

At the time we had no idea how long wars against massive superpowers would last... think of it as recruiting early.

It was a different time. A different mindset and overall culture. America was much different. You are judging this based on your current values, therein lies the issue.

Ask any parent back then what they thought, they would tell you that there is no harm.

  • this is SICK no really sick.. teach children to kill early.

btw these gi joes are better then toys today they seem more quality

  • Another person judging by today's standards. Back then people were encouraged to grow a pair. We fucked up Germany and were ready to kick the collective asses of any other nation around. Warfare is much different now, and so are Americans.

  • dont you think it is lame to think that forcefull power has anything to do with real intellect?

the only war that is intelligent and beutifull and shoulds stay inside a dojo is martial arts.

What is so honourale to putt a bullet into another humans head with a trigger and then watch that and not for a second think " that could ahve been my dad or mom"

  • No. I Don't. Interesting that you would bring up intellect... grammar lessons? Maybe spelling? And it's not about honour. More along the lines of putting a bullet in someones' head and then thinking "If I HADN'T done that, I could have lost my dad or my mom or my kids or my wife".

I'm no expert, but I didn't think that martial artists referred to it as "war"... Think... Martial ARTS. But again it isn't my field of expertise, obviously it's your speciality, and so I must bask in your knowlege.

  • well more then often the case is not that america or a superpower is the one being assulted.. also "flagged missions" and politics , brainwashing and propeganda?

    dont be naiv .

  • Alright, how old are you? You want to talk about naivete? It's obvious that G.I. Joe propaganda and I never disputed that fact. Back then we pictured war as two big superpowers meeting on a battlefield (i.e. WWII) and propaganda existed to promote unification. Destroying the "big evil superpowers" like Germany and eventually the USSR.

Now war is different in that the enemy is not clearly defined. The lack of definition causes lack of unification against our foes.

  • again i dont care what you think , second its never ever right to target children and youth who are under 20 in my opinion, people who cant even drive a car shouldt have to answer to the mistakes of the ones before them.

you talk about unification but you do not know the real deffinition, unification and war or conflict does not go in toghter. A bunch of politicians and and a bunch of other people accidentally gaterhing information on basis of what they are told is not even near unification.

  • Besides i dont care what you think of what i think. All i know is there is never a good reason for war, deffence is not war , war is agression.

Making kids play war when they can learn to play outside , play a sport or educating themselves with music art and so on, to ME IT IS PROPEGANDA AND Politics .. even if it wasnt ment to do that.

Thesedays atleast this is much better .

  • Dumb. Ass. Adolf Hitler was a damn good reason for war. By "unification" I meant the entire country rallied behind the effort to remove such an evil regime. At that time, the mindset was that wars would be fought against evil nations and that the whole country would be involved to stop it.

War changes and evolves. Now the enemy isn't some big evil power. The enemy isn't defined, so it's a different story.

  • higher cost of oil---in 1970s!!! made the company stop making gi joes at this size (walmart now days actually has them at this size again, thanks to 50 cents an hour chinese labor).

  • YO JOE!!!!!!!!

  • why does this remind me of eddie murphy ?

  • These will turn kids into war junkie, GIJOE vs Cobra are more like toys.

  • Actually, they're more likely to turn them into homo's. Accessorizing man dolls is for little girls and queers.

  • Asshat. America had a different mindset at the time. You're looking at this from the present-day point of view. Yeah, I must say, if this were today it would be overflowing with faggotry.

Old-school America was awesome. If someone gave us shit, we sent some Marines to fuck 'em up. Today, you have liberals bitching that it's our fault.

  • you think its CHANGED? haha lough

IT HASNT unless obama mangages to do something.

america always did what it wanted.. since the indians

  • Hell no it hasn't, we just didn't have half the country pissing and moaning about it.

  • wow G.I. Joe the original "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and the only reason I say this is because where is MRS. G.I. Joe huh, I'm just saying I don't see any G.I. Jane action figures and there are a lot of male action figures in this commercial...lol

  • there were some female "gi janes" made in the mid 1960's i believe they were nurses

  • Dude... again, America thought different. Men were on the battlefield, women were in the kitchen, or as rifleman said it, nurses.

  • This is pre Kung-Fu grip.

  • this the old school horrific battle g.i.joe for fun and excitement. kung fu grip will cost you extra. commie.

  • These figures are pretty damn cool but I like GI JOE vs Cobra better!

  • Hay what happened to COBRA???

  • this was before all that cobra crap... t=it was much better then

  • fuck that cobra all the way

  • lol
