Mike the Spike was clearly taking it gently on this elderly killer. This is the racer most commonly described as "hinge-in-the-middle"; Kawasaki took longer than just about anybody else to figure out handling and suspension. This model at Daytona was a fierce fright. Mr. Otsuki, aka "Mr. Horsepower" designed the Mach III series - he came from a background as a jet engine designer. They had the beans but look out for the brakes and the handling. Scary.
