my cat used to cry like crazy when i gave him a bath but i kneeled down so i was close to him i put him in whes there was like a cenimeter of water and slowly filled it up so he got used to it and i pet him to keep him calm using a wash cloth to slowly get some water on him then i used the cup, after a while he got used to it i dont give him baths often bc cats clean themselves but when he NEEDS one he still whines but barely trys to jump out anymore

A vet would have used a detachable shower head, and if the cat didn't want to crouch for his shower, would have sedated your feline to do the cleaning. Good for you and obviously Churchill knows you care too, in the end he was trying to sit nice and let you clean him, it's just that some times that can be scary right after having had some strange mean person douse you in something unpleasant. Poor Churchill. I hope that he avoids the people and or place where he got splashed with crud.
I do of course understand your fear of being scratched by Churchill, he is not a small cat, a contender to be sure, dropping him in the tub on attempt number four was obviously out of fear and frustration withyour feelings, and is forgiveable given that the entire time you are dealing with Churchil your goal is to help him, and be a good owner - No one is perfect, and anyone who claims to be is hiding something that authorities need to investigate immediately!
One of my cats used to come home covered in barbecue lighter fluid, car motor oil, antifreeze, and other noxious substances. It was the neighbors doing this, they openly expressed hatred of cats, and of anything smaller than themselves, which was evidence by the regular beatings of their children that I frequently reported them to child services for - Not that this ever did any good (our systems are so USELESS). Reportign my neighbors for what they were doing to my cat was equally useless.
I also notice you mentioning that Churchill came home covered in something that he obviously had not felt would be healthy or wise for him to remove himself through usual means. There seem to be a number of trolls who missed that part of this conversation as well as someone who believes that he is vicariously a vet and that No Cat ever needs human help for cleaning off dangerous substances.
It is my opinion that there seem to be an inordinate number of people responding to your video who cannot do something as simple as read! You quite clearly explain that there have been other baths, and though we have no idea how well or how poorly those previous baths went, we can assume that Churchilll never once 'cried like a baby' during those events.
@Musicaddictly I believe that issue was addressed....The cat came home in some noxious unidentified (and cat determined icky harmfulness) substance that he hadn't been able or interested in cleaning off of himself (as is what a smart cat who becomes covered in icky harmfulness will avoid doing), as cats sometimes do (especially when other mean humans spray them with things like antifreeze or motor oil), and it was necessary to clean him - Hence the bath, which no one enjoyed.

@TheMotherDragon If you phone a vet/cats protection/pdsa they will tell you that, if you don't know what your cat is covered in or if your cat is too stressed, it's better for them to do it as they can sedate the cat and they have the correct cleaning materials (it may be a substance that burns the skin). Hey, man! Take it easy with Churchill. He could really accidentally hurt you. During an attempt to bathe my cat Sylvester, he jumped out of the water onto my head and proceeded to claw my back and then he attacked my left arm and left me covered in scratch marks and bruises, requiring a visit to my doctor. It's been 27 years since that incident, and I never again attempted to bathe my cats without a second set of hands to help me hold the kitty. Good Luck, you will need it!
@imlilok Except when they are covered in something that is unidentified and could be potentially dangerous to their health (which is why he would not have cleaned it off of himself at this point). Cats are fastidious about their hygiene and will clean themselves immediately when they even believe they have a hair out of place. What would a vet have done differently?

I moved and had to bring my cat from my old apartment to the new one in my car...he howled the entire way there, and was so stressed out, he ended up having an accident in his cat carrier. Last but not least, Churchill does have emotions, or he wouldn't have cried like a baby, and he wouldn't have been capable of trusting you, and you know it! A vet would have used a detachable shower head, and if the cat didn't want to crouch for his shower, would have sedated your feline to do the cleaning. Good for you and obviously Churchill knows you care too, in the end he was trying to sit nice and let you clean him, it's just that some times that can be scary right after having had some strange mean person douse you in something unpleasant. Poor Churchill. I hope that he avoids the people and or place where he got splashed with crud.

I do of course understand your fear of being scratched by Churchill, he is not a small cat, a contender to be sure, dropping him in the tub on attempt number four was obviously out of fear and frustration withyour feelings, and is forgiveable given that the entire time you are dealing with Churchil your goal is to help him, and be a good owner - No one is perfect, and anyone who claims to be is hiding something that authorities need to investigate immediately!

One of my cats used to come home covered in barbecue lighter fluid, car motor oil, antifreeze, and other noxious substances. It was the neighbors doing this, they openly expressed hatred of cats, and of anything smaller than themselves, which was evidence by the regular beatings of their children that I frequently reported them to child services for - Not that this ever did any good (our systems are so USELESS). Reportign my neighbors for what they were doing to my cat was equally useless.

@Musicaddictly I believe that issue was addressed....The cat came home in some noxious unidentified (and cat determined icky harmfulness) substance that he hadn't been able or interested in cleaning off of himself (as is what a smart cat who becomes covered in icky harmfulness will avoid doing), as cats sometimes do (especially when other mean humans spray them with things like antifreeze or motor oil), and it was necessary to clean him - Hence the bath, which no one enjoyed.

Then he started fighting back and clawing up the corner of the bathroom door when I was int eh shower. Funniest thing ever, he used to warble in the shower!! LMFO It was hilarious!

I really don't see why you think distress, pain, fear etc are human only emotions or why you think forcing something instinctively bad to the cat cannot be extremely abusive (I am not saying giving a bath equals abuse btw, just pointing out the worrying fact you think the above). As for the crying, the cry (meow etc) of a cat has evolved/developed over thousands of years with humans and now has the same pitch as a human babies to force our attention! This is just a more obvious example.

Human intervention for animals results through human stupidity and is necessary. Go volunteer to help clean animals who've been involved in manmade eco difficulties. A duck will not thank you for touching his feathers while you clean oil off; coastal birds will not thank you for removing plastic popbottle case rings from their necks or wings.

@TheMotherDragon If you phone a vet/cats protection/pdsa they will tell you that, if you don't know what your cat is covered in or if your cat is too stressed, it's better for them to do it as they can sedate the cat and they have the correct cleaning materials (it may be a substance that burns the skin). With all due respect, it's a cat I commented on, not a duck or any other animal as I know more about cats than anything else. IF HE CARED ABOUT HIS CAT, HE WOULDN'T BE FILMING AND LAUGHING!!!!

Hey, man! Take it easy with Churchill. He could really accidentally hurt you. During an attempt to bathe my cat Sylvester, he jumped out of the water onto my head and proceeded to claw my back and then he attacked my left arm and left me covered in scratch marks and bruises, requiring a visit to my doctor. It's been 27 years since that incident, and I never again attempted to bathe my cats without a second set of hands to help me hold the kitty. Good Luck, you will need it!

Cats are fastidious about their hygiene and will clean themselves immediately when they even believe they have a hair out of place. What would a vet have done differently?

@NikkieKittie28 actually cats may clean continuously but that doesn't make them very clean why cause they clean there bums and guess what there bums have very bad bacteria on and they clean there fur with there tongue afterwards cleaning there bums that means there spreading that bad bacteria from there bum to there tongue to there fur. cats may hate water but it's not for the reason cause they can't go in water cause all cats have webbed feet like dogs making cats very good swimmers.

I moved and had to bring my cat from my old apartment to the new one in my car...he howled the entire way there, and was so stressed out, he ended up having an accident in his cat carrier. So I had to give him a bath. OMG, he howled just like this. If I ever get another cat, I'm going to get him used to baths from a young age.
