Oh .. My God! Korea Total War ... Really!? ... World In Conflict .. Those aren't even comparable to this.
This is Men of War with a new skin ... because it uses the same engine, and yes it does require strategy. It's fun, very very fun, but it's also very very annoying.
i tried this game out and i had trouble comanding my guys becouse they just went off to do a bunch of crazy shit without me telling them to... why's that?
@Attila16 First off the controls are very confusing (camera controls), not much fighting but more strategic planning which is not really my type. The game is also very huge-based so I dont understand why it has many options for infantry. Otherwise, it is an OK game but Men of War is much better
@Shadowzzzz5599 mac book pro if you are heading to college it is cheap but only downside is some games dont support mac IOS but most Widely known games like call of duty are for mac IOS :)
If you've actually been to Korea and wasted 3 months of your life there you'll see the landscape is nothing at all like you find in this game. You just have a cluster of trees here and there. It's either a forest or paddy fields
@LKRaider Theatere of war is a great RTS I have the one in North Africa. It requires alot of planning because if you charge anything it gets mowed down and you only have the troops you start with. I love the bullet sysem. I can actualy get my guys to move behind a rock and take cover, or have tanks fire smoke rounds to cover infatry moving up with half tracks. You can not get a million tanks and rush because they have to stop to shoot like in real life.
@MichaelWithstand While it looks like the engagement range is pretty realistic on here ill admit. I must ask if youve ever played MoW thoroughly? On there you have to micro manage each individual soldier which includes picking up ammo, grenades, health, gas for vehicles, ect...Honestly when I saw this video it looked more like Starcraft in all honesty. Just give MoW a chance is all im saying, but if theres something im missing here id be happy to hear what you have to say.
@Kin6X Hmm this one is similiar to men of War too in that respect that you need to control individual soldier to plant mine for example by selecting the squad and then until you got the soldiuer with the mine and order him to plant them.
I haven't played Men Of War but I'm sure it's a great game though. Men of War is a descendant of Heroes: Soldiers of World War 2. They changed the name series but essentialy the same game design from the same developer.
@MichaelWithstand I actually havent played Heroes. I have however played Fortunes of War which was supposed to be released before the first MoW if i believe, the game is alot different, to the point where I didnt even enjoy it. That doesnt sound too bad though, just alot less responsibility kind of like Company of Heroes, which was good. Thanks for the tip of Heroes though, ill probably be checking it out now lol
@Kin6X The difference between Theatre of War and Men Of War though besides the engagement range is the micromanaging level. Although it is said that you need to select individual equipped solider to give specific special equipment task, in battle most of the time you feel like a battlefield commander since the AI is actually pretty good at interpreting your command(they seek cover and fight pretty well).
I just bought Theatre of War 3 Korea along with Black Shark Ka-50 study sim from steam :)
@MichaelWithstand One thing I will admit about MoW is that the AI is pretty damn stupid lol. But I guess its that hand holding iv become accustomed to, since as I said the micromanaging is so intense that if you forget to tell your boys to grab extra ammo they'll begin just throwing grenades at all targets lol. I'll give this game another chance though I guess, I made the transition from Starcraft > CoH > MoW > Em4 so I guess one more jump wont kill me lol
@Kin6X Damn youtube won't allow me to type longer xD. But if you want to know the feel then I suggest you try to play a demo for Theatre of War.
I'm sure Men of War is a very good game but I'm not sure the feels of Theatre of War would appeal to everyone as easily as Men of War. The game requires patience and passion somewhat. It is definitely not a game like Starcraft :)
Maybe I'll buy Men of War one of these days. The price for the full collection is....daunting xD
@MichaelWithstand Thats enough said though, thanks for taking the time. I'll try out the game for sure. I do want to suggest that you give MoW a try though, I actually have every single game in the series and will tell you that none of them disappoint (at least in my opinion). While it may take some time to get used to, as ToW will for me, I think if it turns out to be a good game that wont matter too much. Once again, thanks for taking the time to explain. :)
Good game. Just been playing it for the first time.

@Kin6X unlike Men of War this game features realistic engagement range.
Theatre of War is thus a more realistic series than Men of War though it doesn't mean Men of War is a worse game as to each his own.
