That was cool. I wanted to try to do something like this. I was looking to write it out then start shooting. I was thinking more of an action/suspense short. Something that might lead the watcher to beleive they are running after something or from something.
i thought the fight scene was pretty good.... the direction was good too... the only thing i would say is work on the editing... but other than that great!
Personally, I think it needed better direction. And I was the director. Editing had problems because while directing I didn't have the foresight to see some of the issues, it was my first time. Editing it sure showed all the flaws though, but it came together half decently with some crafty Premiere Pro work.
I would put the iffy part at the shot to the head as well as the wide arcing punches. Iam am martial artists and before that used to get into school fights alot. The punches are usually kept close in due to the ammount of force that is lost by curving in. Also the shot to the head was probably set up with a 9mm and was without a blood spray taking away from the realness of most of the film.
It depends on where the camera is in relation to the people on how the punches can be done. It was my first day trying to see if I could at least make the punches connect. More realism in the actual combat itself will have to come later.
The part where he gets kicked (punched? knee'd?) in the balls is a little sketchy, but the rest is very well done. Good cuts and such. I would comment on the sound effects, but I'm at work and I have no sound...

I couldn't see well cuz of the lighting but the fight definitely looked real. Good sound effects also.
