  • Ugly as hell.. But it'll get the job done I guess..

  • the best thing about this gun in my opinion is that it looks like a water-gun::]

  • jay electronica brought me here

  • p90 beats it, still a pretty damn cool gun

  • they look butt ugly . but i bet with 100 rounds loaded up you cant go wrong .

no i wonder what an additional magazine would cost .

and as long guns are effective and reliable .

the ugly look isnt such a big deal .

atleast id rather have an ugly gun than a ugly wife hahahaha

  • @undergroundmasterrr additonal mag run about 150$

  • or my mp5k with c-mags

  • i stick with my m4

  • Imagine this thing in 5.7 caliber...

  • @agus2001 Thats mm...

  • @matt92hun my bad, you're right.

  • where does the bullet shell exit the gun?

  • @Bad2daBone447 through the bottom

  • does anybody have or know where I can buy a magazine for this gun. I lost mine about a year ago and I'm catching HELL trying to find a replacement

  • the bad guys in the movie 007 the world is not enough have that gun lol

  • @123johnyable Actually, they don't.

  • @TheReaper709 well matbe not in that movie but i know that in one of the 007 movies they do lol my bad

  • 2:36 it jammed LOL

In all seriousness though, the helical magazine is one of the best ideas I've seen in a firearm. Wan't one of these so bad!

  • WOW extremely silenced !!!

  • Where's the bloody sound?

  • @VicariousReality7 The Calipo has an internal suppressor

  • @GierJoost lol

  • @VicariousReality7

It seems to work only in 240p, tbh I don't even remember what it was when I uploaded it or even if youtube had those options back then.

  • most retarded piece of metal ever...

  • Just imagine if a 'lucky' round hit the magazine...

  • @ninjax105 omg dude i started laughing soo hard when i read your comment and what a lucky round it would be .....

  • TEH REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN. DUNDUNDUN!!!!! WHY DOES TEH GUY LOOK LIKE A NUB?

  • Comment removed

  • hey anyoneknow if the muzzle compensator on the m951 is suposed to be permanently attached to the barrel? i got one and it looks like someone put thepin in and welded it in permanently.

  • I have the M-950, I love the way it fires, took me some time to adjust to the low recoil. I hope to purchase the M-951 next. They may be odd looking and aren't your typical light arms, but they are fun to fire and are solid.

  • I think they all look shite

  • No audio?

  • Calico's back, coming out in .40 S&W "late 2010", or so the website says.

Also... is it just me or is there no frigging sound?

  • When I was but a lad

I lost my true love fair

A calico, he caught us by surprise

In a flash of teeth and fur

Her tail was all he left of her

    'Neath the heather

    Is where it tirra-lirra lies

    But...

  • They are using 9mm not 22lr.

  • Technically, even though these probably have less punch than any submachine gun on the planet, they would be designated machine guns as it uses rifle ammo (.22 caliber long rifle), not pistol rounds.

  • @sgunn911

That would be true, except these things fire 9mm luger, so I doubt they lack any more power than an MP-5 or an Uzi or MAC.... They do MAKE .22 rimfire models, but those are nothing more than target toys. Most Calico's fire 9mm.

  • These are good for having some cheap fun, and that's about it. .22 ammunition is dirt cheap, but good for plinking or target shooting and not much else. Showing these used in tactical scenarios is just plain silly.

Name any police or military force that currently uses any type of .22 rimfire firearms. I agree these would be fun to play with out on the ranch since the ammo is cheap, but not very practical as it isn't even very good for taking down even the smallest predators or coyotes.

  • @sgunn911 Dude...these are 9mm.

  • where are the sights

  • @dagurru1 On top of the two V shaped bars that allow the magazine to snap into place.

  • `I have to say fuck thats awesome.

  • this is very promising, if it were in 6.5 saab, this thing would be great

  • That guy looks like young sylvester stallone.

  • it would be better with a longer sight radius.

  • I have doubts about this gun in combat but it would be pretty sweet to have one to shoot stuff in your backyard or something. Especially that LMG variant

  • top magazine sucks, bottom mounted would make it mroe amd

  • @angrygunsmith well with it at the top, they can have bottom ejecting shells.

  • i dont even understand why they advertise, nobody in the largest consumer areas can buy automatic weapons without a rediculous amount of red tape to cross

  • a bipod on a 9mm rifle? why?

  • Biggie had one & wrote about it in a song. Loaded with black talons.

  • I wonder if there's any more potential to be pulled out of this design? I always did like it.

  • zomg i remember this gun from 007 agent under fire

  • I like it!

  • sweeeeeet :) i want one

  • THIS is the ingenuity I like to see

  • Where can i buy 1 of these?

  • DAMMMMNNN this gun is cool bro the desigin is awsome

  • why would i want a 9x19 mm rifle? that is just stupid.

  • 9mm for compactness... that's why it's called a subgun, because it uses pistol rounds... Compare the drum on the calico to the drum for a .223 AR-15 and you'll see what I mean. 9mm is probably the most popular subgun round, but it would be nice to see more .40's or maybe even 357+P

  • If it had to be a sub gun, I'll take the proven, light weight FN P90!:D

  • Looks like an 80's sci fi gun... If it is good as it says, how come it isn't as popular today?

  • They aren't popular in my opinion for several reasons.

    1. Very expensive

    2. They are 9 mm not the popular 40 caliber that law enforcement demands now

    3. They look and feel a bit like a toy gun

    4. The company just doesn't have the money behind it that other companies do.

    5. They have had a hard time up against the assault weapons ban of the 90's since everything they made fit into that catagory.

    6. They had to move out of Kalifornia, as they couldn't sell any guns to the public there.

  • That being said, i love my calico .22 rifle. Mine is a very early model and is pretty beat but i picked it up for a song. Now i am saving up to get the 9mm rifle version. Can't wait!

  • @QuarantaSette47: Funny you should mention '80s sci-fi seeing as how Calicos were used in 'Spaceballs'.

  • Also Total Recall

  • Total Recall also had Ruger AC-556 MuzzleLite bullpup carbines (which Arnold fired one-handed from the hip without aiming).

  • @QuarantaSette47

Frankly, it's not all that well made. A lot of the parts are stamped steel. Surfaces are very rough, and the action is prone to misfeeds and slamfires.

I own one, and it's kinda fun, but I'd never count on it in a firefight. It fails too often.

  • How is it European when its made in the USA??

The p90 is the European gun as it was made by FN, a Belgian company.

  • @reapyreap They also make the 5.7 pistol wooooweeee my favorite

  • Not to mention I believe the Calico came first. I know I've seen them around since the early 1990's. I bought my Calico M-100 back in '92.

  • The Calico company was opened in 1982. The iconic drum feeded guns started production in 1989.

  • good idea but Looks like it didn't catch on for some obvious reasons.

  • Calico's look like toy guns but they'll get it done.......

  • WOW!!! If santa is listening!!!

  • Comment removed

  • See... what they should do is build it as a bullpup and making the 100 mag into the stock. That way the gun wouldnt look so damn ugly. But I'd really like to get my hands on one

  • What a cool gun.

  • its not the best looking gun, but after i kill you i can play with my bryco :D

  • goddamn earthquake of 1992

  • too bad that gun looks like complete shit.

  • .45 is more devastating, and mag on top in my opinion dissturbs aiming...

  • dude caclico sux 9mm rounds? no way man

  • Nice video, but a bit dated.

I can't imagine any of the "silent professionals" use a Calico.

Best known as a "fun gun".

  • Cops are gonna know who did it, not many people own a Calico..

  • @820Productionz

i doubt criminals register their calicos. lol.

  • @820Productionz its a nine millimeter tho

  • wouldnt this be the ideal suppressed rifle? theres no external bolt movement to make excess noise....

  • Plus, it's a bullpup, has its own brasscatcher, and can be broken down to component parts that quickly.

If you had a Calico that was the length of a regular sniper rifle, then the accuracy and range would be incredible.

    Hmmm.

  • Calico that is your cue to get working on a .308 long barreled rifle.... get crackin

  • rifle? ...9mm...

  • That would be if they made like a .223 or .308 version which would be awesome, but in the 9mm form i know its a carbine.

  • the compact size of the helical magazine works for short rounds like 9mm and 22, but for long rifle rounds, it wont be compact anymore.

  • i dont know what you mean by no external bolt movement, its just a downward ejection, compared to the conventional side

  • What do you mean, you dont know what no ecternal bolt movement? Theres no moving parts of the bolt outside.

  • The bolt handle doesn't move. Hence less noise when cuppled to a supressor and sub sonic ammo

  • Yes I know that ;)

  • The bolt handle itself stays stationary, it does move during firing, yes the inside does, but the bolt handle makes a lot of noise, elinating that makes it a lot more quiet

  • if you meant "non reciprocating cocking handle", its not at all uncommon, loads of weapons have it.

Besides, a non reciprocating or reciprocating cocking handle isnt a factor in a weapon's level of noise it makes.

  • you can kill a lot of niggers with this gun believe me

  • @MadRopes

u can kill a lot of neo-nazi, skin-heads, and backwood hillbilly KKK rednecks with this gun believe me.

  • I don't understand how you can get consistent accurate shots with such a short sighting system.

  • Comment removed

  • why would u need a brass catcher?

  • If you reuse your shells.

  • i ment in a war or combat situation

  • Probably for Special Forces if they want to keep from being tracked I guess. It might help so you don't have a trail of shells leading to where you are lol

  • hmm hadnt thought of that

  • so your brass isnt flinging everywhere

  • unless your spec ops or reuse your shells i dont see why you would care about that

  • @MrSean1997

designed for spec ops and of course drug-dealers/cartels

  • for reloading

  • how will your used brass casings help you reload?

  • They won't, but the brass catcher serves the purpose of keeping casings from tripping you up if you step on them. One hundred casings underfoot is pretty risky if you want to run away from wherever you were firing.

  • hmm good point

  • *Thinks of old Hanna-Barbera cartoons where the characters slip on marbles*

Yep, that'd be a pretty silly way to go. Shot by a terrorist because you slipped on your own casings.

  • From what i know of the guns, its a crapshoot whether you get a good one that will never give you an issue or one that will jam every 10 rounds...No quality control from Calico Arms.

  • i got three of those guns on sale (not currently on sale)

  • it sucks but has alot of similarities to the fn p90

  • Calicos might be shitty weapons (well, I can´t judge on that..) but their mag design will always fascinate me...

  • BIGGY SMALLS!!!!

  • The .22 caliber gun comes with a 100 round magazine and is real fun to shoot.

  • you can tell its a shit gun just by the advert describing it,,it was like watchin a shopping channel advert with the cheezy descriptions n corny accent...i was expecting a "get it for just $500,YES $500 people.plus get an extra magzine,ABSOLUTELY FREE"pop up...

  • in Quantum of solace game u can use this

  • LULZ! Everyone saying this is a piece of shit. Why does everyone forget that the human body is susceptible to any kind of bullet. Sure it won't go through Kevlar but who would be using this to go to war? Is every person here thinking of starting a small militia and fighting their local police force?

  • thats not the case...its the fact that if you whip this fucker out its more likely to jam on ya..giving the other person the advantage of havin a good ol laugh, then shooting you in the head..thats why its shit....

  • that is and impractical piece of shit will never make the market

  • "that is "A" impractical piece of shit"

  • that is "an" impractical piece of shit?

  • How dare they compare this POS to the mighty MP5

  • this is a crapy weapons

  • i used to have one of those that thing is one of the worst pieces of shit iv ever shot the magazine is a pain in the ass to load and it jams about every 5 to 10 rounds and besides that the thing is fucking huge

  • Calico - crap for civilians only.

  • 9mm.... sooo weak... at least .45

  • I prefer Russian PP Bizon, helical magazines ftw!

  • This thing is WAY overrated, and super ugly.

  • are you crazy thi is an innovative gun design,so compact, better accuracy, and brass catcher, hell yes this gun is bad ass,and the name is bad ass also.

  • My previous comments were responses to others... but they somehow ended up at the top.

  • They should make the calico into a gas airsoft gun

  • I have the .22 civilian version with a custom thumbhole stock, it's one of the nicest guns i own. the only time it has ever jammed on me was when i used soft point ammo, the action is pretty heavy for a .22 and likes to split the tips.

  • thats an interesting magazine design

  • damm my 22 calico sami auto sucks compared to this new models.....9mm thats even better and yes my ak mack 90 is way better.

  • wait. Isn't the scuba diver still in the water? rofl.

  • lol

  • so i have a civilian model liberty 2 and mine jams all the time something like once every 10 rds

  • i have the m-950A it never jams on me?

  • what kind of ammunition do you use i contacted the company and they told me to use winchester white box only. i have have it work wonderfully once but only when it was like 20 degrees outside

  • its jams that easily? man and i though the calico was the most badass SMG on the planet

  • Thats advertising for you.

  • yeah but when half the world is shooting at you with ak47 with 7.62x39 that can go thru a sement wall,i dont think having a 9mm weapon in combat is the best chiose,i rather have my aAK anytime.

  • because these guns were designed with outdoor combat in mind

  • to vicvper78:yeah but your crappy ak isnt as accurate as a calico and way too large, this calico is concealable and can easily be pointed out of a car window before you can get to your AK,yoi can walk around the streets with a hidden calico,100 rounds of damage, plus with teflon coating the fps will be more deadly.also you can use two calicos at the same time against a loser with an AK

  • i have to agree. with most of your points, however, i have found some flaws in this system.

they are not diverse as something with a full Rail Interface System.

they are not very compact. and the platform is not as versatile as even an m4.

another problem is that none of them surpass 750 rpm.

the 9mm, while it is good, is a short round, is all that makes the hexile design possible. if it were a 5.56 or a 5.7 the mag would be huge.

the p90 solves all problems, and still holds 50 rounds

  • hahaha yea ur 9mm shells'll be bouncing of the dude with the ak's body armor while he cuts u in half

  • well if it was THAT good why hasn't the SAS gotten rid of its trusted and proven mp5? :P zactly

  • ns weapons system... but they should improve the style of the gun. I mean it's not even close to nice looking/sexy as the m4/m16

  • wowo it is 2009 this is 2006 still no aitsoft gun for it tho

  • I know. that would be cool, The Mag would hold1000 rounds or so. It would probobly be chronoed at 280-350 fps, depending on which Airsoft model it is.

  • it seems the magazine design only houses 9mm ammo, it would be quite inefficient at storing standard nato rounds.

  • i want one!

  • I dont know why the .22lr version isnt in canada. its completely legal here. a huge market too.

  • i had the m-960. it was sweet, but i over winded the clip & it broke....

  • i got the .22 cal version of the 9mm carbine. its fuckin awesome. the mag is so easy to use and its accurate as fuck

  • yea man lets enhance the ACCURATE AS FUCK!!

  • indeed ma nigga...

  • sorry calico i still like p 90 as lightweight, compact, ass full of power

  • that's gonna be my smg, but i wish it wz in the airsoft mode cuz its gonna be tight if it wz!

  • Every time I see this I wish I had bought the M-950 instead of the M-100 model.

  • I'll keep that in mind
