loaded some mkv files on a usb but they didnt play any clue ?? a friend is telling me i have to  encode the files so it will play u ever heard that ??

I was thinking of getting this model because I wanted to use my PS3 for games only. How does the picture quality of this unit compare to PS3, not just for Blu-Ray`s but also for upscaling DVD`s?

I've had the same type of player for about a year now and its been great. I use a 320gb harddrive with it and it plays all my files ok.

I use my PS3 on my main tv, but dont have a hdtv in the bedroom. What made you deside to get this particular model?

@gabbogabbo I was looking for something that could play the widest variety of formats and that wasn't too expensive. This one came in at $79 Canadian, which was a pretty good deal
