  • 2011=3.5% inflation does not =hyperinflation. FAIL!

  • what a dickhead.

  • in Jan (earlier probably Dec or Nov since it was posted on Jan) Williams predicted hyper-inflation in 6-9months

Its Aug/Sept. core inflation is less 2%, headline inflation is less than 2.5%.. (yes commodity prices are rising but that is because they are determined by world markets- yes what people in other parts in the world consume affects us--more than Bernanke-sama printing presses of doom). The dollar, yes declining, is not at any "new low"..

This is the guy y'all think is right? Oh.

  • @tfiasco88 I think it is a confusion between inflation and currency devaluation.I think the gold price can show that rate of inflation is higher than official stats. The reason I think he is slightly off is because he did not factor in the Euro crisis that is making the US dollar, the leper with the most fingers, look ok but that will not last as a wave of defaults could cause a lack of confidence in fiat currency that has tremendous counterparty risk. So get physical gold and silver as insurance

  • @TheMystic2100 theres no confusion, he literally says "there will be hyper inflation within the next 6-9months".... Yes gold has been rising but I dont think its bc its telling the "truth" about inflation, rather gold is being used as an alternative investment vehicle bc interest rates are damn near zero. The dollar has been declining since the Bush years & there has not been any sort of "hyper inflation" risk. The crises arent about "a lack of confidence in fiat currency" in any stretch.

  • looks like the guy might have his predictions right, even the time frames...

  • Ummm I welcome inflation you fucking idiots. We are in a liquidity trap. Look at the monetary base and still no real inflation in fact the REAL indicators like oh I dunno flat wages which if you think are going to rise I have some property here in FL I can sell you. We are looking at a real possibility of deflation.

  • This is an intelligent and well researched man. The press, though, are immature morons living in a fairy-tale world.

  • @kostaDez Thats funny but it aint right.

  • This "donkey" commentator needs this video played back for her in a year or two

  • What a stupid thing to say... She hopes the guy is not right.... What does she think he is doing?... making up a story and blowing it out his behind!... Why would the guy go to the trouble of telling us what's going to happen if things stay on the same course in the world today, if he wasn't serious about it. And she laughs and says she hopes it doesn't happen... Did I really just watch that or am I dreaming? Foolish people in the media today…. Such foolishness.

  • This f'n lady is a clown. Is this the first time she has ever heard of hyperinflation?!

Why is she a host? She's a giddy school girl hoping to get kissed for the first time.

  • The reporters were almost laughing at him. At the very least, just acting like they were humoring him. Williams may be the one laughing last in a year or two.

  • HYPERINFLATION....NOT....IN CANADA HE SAID !!

Americans keep telling me that Canada is also screwed and going down the tubes.

John Williams is brilliant at this.

  • I like john but he should lighten up on the fork hes like a tick hooly shito .when he explodes the economy goes with it .

  • @advancedideas I agree. God, we need you John....... get healthy. There will be few others to turn to for the truth.

  • If the usa has hyperinflation, and a dollar crash, I can only see the global markets going down and evey country bein affected. Never trust the media or the government or you will be screwed.

  • he is wrong about canada not being affected, 75% of canada's exports go to the states. if the states goes belly up, so does canada.

  • @losolomo

However Canada is looking to make exports to China, India , Russia

We don t depend as much as we used to with the americans. I agree we will be affected to some measure but hyperinflation?????

  • @losolomo I agree with you, as a Canadian i'm concerned how to deal with this. But i've hoarded food and bought silver, so i'll be fine for a short while. How long will this last? 6 months or a year, who knows, but its going to get ugly up here. Being only a few hours from the US though if they experience hyperinflation and we don't i'll probably go down and get a good used vehicle for cheap.
