@RoscoTheRat Ear cropping was originally done to prevent a person or animal from grabbing the ears (compare the ears of a police Doberman to a show Doberman). It's even worse when people don't even bother to crop them correctly- one of the horrible every-day things at the shelter is some head-shy pit bull with no ears, uneven ears, or ears that curled backwards because some idiot did it at home with a pair of scissors instead of having a trained veterinarian do it.
@LaikaCameBack Ear cropping/docking was originally done for working dogs. Docked tails is so it doesnt get stuck into places and ears for dogs who tend to go against other animals. Also done on show dogs before they decided natural dogs are more beautiful. But, it is completely untrue that fighters these days crop dogs because that would cause room for infection that they can't afford to have on a prized dog. (I know, I surround myself with Pit Bull and pit information).
@LaikaCameBack Ps: All that aside, it is a disgusting habit even done by a vet. I think this abusive "cosmetic" surgery should be outlawed everywhere, not just in the UK. My man came to the shelter with his ears chopped with scissors. He's handsome, but he has two holes in his head now where cute floppy ears used to be. Not only that my man was hit to make him "mean" though it didn't work, then he was dumped..

My favorite trick for My dad's pit, Molly, is hide and seek. We make her wait in the kitchen, hide a treat in the living room, and then make her find it. And instead of "speak", it's "Molly, say please". We're working on her inside voice and getting her to bark quietly.

@gavinphx I, too, disagree with ear clipping and tail docking. But when you adopt a dog from the pound or a shelter, you just can't judge them by their looks. Thank for adopting this dog, he is absolutely adorable! =)

i love watching these videos of pitbulls. it lets people see the side that isnt in the news. people dont take the time to search for the good dogs. they just listen to all the bad shit thats spread around. your dog is gorgeous
@xBritxMassacrex The side that is news is important news because that news normally results in the death or severe facial deformities after a child's face gets half ripped off. Their muscle mass and strength is through the roof and the instinctive part of their mind to fight is honed to perfection so they are a fucking menace. And what is it with you people letting dogs into your house? Disgusting and absolute filth!
