  • WOAH! I LOVEE YOUE HAIIRRRR! <3 YOURE SO BEAUTIFUL!! :)

  • I Started Smiling When You Said "I Dont Even Know You But I'am Excited About Your Decision to Go Natural" Well Thank You ! LOL I'm Struggling With Transitioning Because I'm Not Going to Do a BIG CHOP ! Lls I Need Help ! Lls

  • Beautiful Black Women. Keep teaching our young girls and women. I thank you:)

  • Hey, Im 52 and Jan.5 2012 was my last Perm.....Thanks for sharing.....

  • I'm not sure if natural is for me. I'm really scared to go natural. The last time I saw my natural hair which was before puberty it was a 3b or 3c very thin and curly but it's 4 inches long now and wayyy thicker than before and kinkier and I don't think kinky hair will fit me.

  • I'm so glad I came across your video great inspirational words. I'm BC this Friday and I have total support from the hubby. He loves natural hair but I'm doing this for me and so excited about. I've been even having dreams of me being natural I'm so crunk lol! My best friend is a hairdresser and is so against me doing it but I don't care like I said I'm doing this for me. Great video. I will be subscribing.

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. ON VALENTINES DAY 2012. ILL BE BIG CHOPPING. ALL THE WAY.

  • Thanks for the advice! I'm BCing on Monday. I have been transitioning since August and I don't like having the two textures. Why hang on to permd hair? I just don't know how long I want to keep it! Yours is really nice!!!

  • Thank you so much for this EXCELLENT, informative, honest and open video!!! Especially the part about mainstream media which sells us a lie, particularly women of color. I realized a while back that I needed to go natural for healthier hair. I'm 5 months post relaxer, but decided earlier this year to start putting in gentle or mild perms to minimize breakage. I have already embraced my kinky, coarse hair and look forward to continued hair health.

  • Your really pretty(:

  • Just came across this video! WIsh I had seen this My second time transitioning. I agree with #3 the first two times I transitioned I had no self esteem. Now Im just waiting Two more months Til I hit 14 months transitioning to Do a mini CHOP! Confidence is key! and YOU LOOK GORGEOUS!

  • so glad i watched this video! my confidence is so so and cutting my hair would be a big step; but i wanna do it! do what makes you happy w. ur hair! so true

  • "Natural hair is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get." I love it!!! Great video. =)

  • Good inspiration!!..and i love your hair...

  • wow...Im Big Choping tomorrow!..because of this video lol...Ive been on the fence about it for like the last 2 months and I just did a Mini Big chop in the back of my head yesterday (on my channel) and NOW the urge to cut my relaxed hair off is stronger than EVER!!..Thanks for this video..I have ONE supporter..my mom is my WORST natural hair/big chop 'hater' and i live with her so ur advice to "relax" and do it for ME was REALLY helpful! :)

  • Well Said.. :).. I am in transition mode and everything you mentioned I have been trying to do (mentally) to prepare myself.. except for taking a break from the media.. which maked aalot of sense.. Thanks alot..

  • we definetely need more wise people like u

  • thank you ..thank you ...

  • wow awesome advice!!! thank u. i've been natural for 12 years (i did my 4th chop last week--it's as short as yours and the shortest i've ever gone) and this advice is something is so timely and is so meaningful to me.

  • Sunshine, you are indeed so beautiful inside and out and are a true definition of

"i am not my hair"! lol yesterday was my 4 month "nappiversary" and you have really been an inspiration. Something about this video has given you an additional glow. Lovin the light. Love and blessings to you, M, and Dimeji (shea baby)

  • yes darling Sunshine, yet another informative video. Keep 'em coming. You make perfect sense when u say embrace what God blessed us with. There are so many things to do with it whether, BC or long. Take care.

  • me, the rest was a given. I've always been confident cause if figure hey, if God made it, ain't nothing wrong wit it. And finally, I'm so crazy about the natural hair community on youtube that I've all but ditched tv for the past year! Even when I watch a movie - especially a black movie - I have a hard time getting past the - in my opinion - clownish looking weaves! Thanx for yet another great vid, which is of course, to be fav'd!

  • @maximuslyricus Preach! lol

  • wanted my hair to be like herflyness79, and chaka khan's & diana ross' wigs! I know! I know! Fortunately, I had always lamented about the fact that my two older brothers' hair was so much more lush and thick than we 8 sisters' hair. So when hubby chopped off my hair and I saw a mirror image of my brothers' hair - Girrrrl! I jumped up and started doing an african celebratory war dance! So with texture acceptance out of the way, for

  • I tell u what - u look so fly on this vid that if I was thinking about bc'ing, I'd jump up and do it right after watching this vid! When I made the decision to go natural, and then four months later to bc - I pretty much knew nada about natural hair. Fortunately, I had most of the things u recommend in place by default. Though I gotta admit, although I had a reason for wanting to go natural, it was probably one that u would not recommend. I

  • This video is great!! Thank you for taking the time to inform us all!!

  • You wear your TWA very well. Thanks for good advice.

  • Love u Sunshine and I always look forward to your motivational vids. Thanks

  • I just have to say Sunshine, I'm loc'd and totally loving it, my daughter is natural and I'm grooming her into a young girl that lives her natural hair and she's totally into it. advice was on the money. I have been loc'd now for four years and I'm still being asked why and if I'm gonna go back etc. I'm always prepared tho. I feel so strongly about this natural hair that if God forbids chemo takes it away, I would be anxiously waiting for that first dew strands to come back in so that I can fi

  • This is such a help! I was shocked when I first saw my natural hair but I am learning to accept it and love it. I have just subscribed!

  • I agree totally with #4....it is very important to change your view of beauty before going natural....this was instrumental in helping me to remain natural and continuing my journey...if you still feel that only straight hair is pretty, it will be difficult to accept your own hair when it is kinky, coily, nappy. My 10 yr old is also natural and previously had long straight hair, it took a lot of work to help her to see that her hair is beautiful too...pictures do help to shape your view.

  • Just what I needed and I'm 3 months natural

  • Thanks for the advice!

  • ..."Beautiful Brown Beauties"...I LOVE that :)

  • I absolutely loveee watching Sunshines videos! Great advice, always.

  • I absolutely loveee watching Sunshines videos! Great advice, always.

  • Great Advice as usual Sunshine! You should consider being a motivational speaker : ) I did all that your advising. Especially breaking from mainstream media. If you chop all your hair off and go watch what society sees as beautiful you will end up at the hair store purchasing some Yaky # 1b. LOL

  • Lolz you sed my name(!)But i agree kids in school would ask me Why? I'm happy with the results.

  • Great video!!!!!!! May God bless you and keep you and be gracious to you and give you peace. I love your hair. Our natural hair is powerful!!!!!!!!

  • you look beautiful as always, your style and makeup are flawless

  • im only 14 ,thank you

  • Great video and I wish i would have seen this before i decided. My mom HATES my decision to go natural and every other day she says "Idk why you don't cut it or perm it" and she thought i was being a follower when i decided to go natural.

  • I wish you made this before I made my decision! Initially, I had no idea that going natural was so deep. I figured it's just hair right...wrong! In the short time I've been loose natural, I've discovered all of the things you've addressed on my own (& I started off with 6 inches of hair...imagine if I big chopped) . I can honestly say that I caused myself undue anxiety. I would recommend anyone going natural do their research, be realistic about their hair, and not take it too serious.

  • There is a Youtube channel called Naturalnana who has GREAT videos showing Natural pics. Any natural ladies should check it out! :-) I'd also add that newly natural ladies learn simple ways to "dress up" their look with nice jewelry or makeup because I think subconsciously many women are conditioned to feel negatively about their natural hair and dress down whereas when they wore straight hair they dolled up more so I say STICK TO IT with natural hair.

  • Good vid very informative...i'm five mths post relaxer and plan on doing so for a whole yr and then cutting off relaxed ends that way i will have more growth which will make me more comfortable alot of times we get so hype about watchin others big chop that we rush in the bathroom and grab scissors lol do it in your own timing and you will be fine

  • @cortrell99 You are right! Do it in your own time!

  • I've been natural for 2 months so I have a small TWA. And I have NO CLUE WHAT TO DO WITH IT! lol.

  • @lorae818 You should definitely visit naturalsunshine.ning.com there are lots of naturals on that site all willing to help you out! Good luck.

  • You're so pretty. Inside and out ;)

  • @ellaalyse Thank you ellaalyse!
