Can you still control it on your iPhone/iPod?

@nestie Yes. In normal mode iPod/iPhone says "accessory connected" but on the head unit you can choose control mode. Then you can use iPod/iPhone normally but the music comes from the head unit and it shows the info as usual.

Okay, just tell me what difference does it make if I play your favourite music instead of mine? The final sound goes like this: player -> car speakers -> camera mic -> youtube video compression -> your computer speakers -> your ears. Everything after "car speakers" and "your ears" is extra, unnecessary and ruins your evaluation of how the player sounds. You can mock my music all you want, just answer me to that question. :D

I've also found Blaupunkt sd tuners.

The downside is they don't play cds and formats wav and aac. Do you think the (supposedly) superior quality of the Blaupunkt is worth its shortcomings of features? I would say no. And also I have ordinary Pioneer speakers in my car which probably won't reproduce the difference in sound quality.

Thanks. At the moment I have an old Panasonic radio cassette which is still working perfectly, and because of my good experience with Panasonic I want to make sure that I can expect the same quality with Pioneer.

I think that Pioneer makes reliable quality products. I have not listened critically to this headunit, but on first impressions the sound quality is nice. It has a feature called "Sound Retriever" that supposedly adds fidelity to MP3/AAC/WMA-compressed sounds but I have not tested it.

Alpine makes a cheap SD-card/iPod playing headunit as well (IDX-001 I think). You might want to consider it too.

The reason is that my car is worth as much as the radio and people could break in just to steal a usb stick which is visible, the sd card is hidden. I've seen your other movies with the robotic hand and Vento speedo, so I take it you know your way around electronics;)

My question: do you think this radio has a good quality sound (DAC) and overall quality and reliability (reliability of the brand Pioneer)?

What are other options?
