I'm not in defense of either party, but looking at this speech again right now, I notice that while he is happy for the historic moments, he is more concerned about the future of the country. During his inauguration, he stated his concern and said that recovery will not be fast. People don't take that into attention until it affects them. The "hope" he talks about is the hope that things will get better in the best way, not the quickest way

And I'm pretty sure even President Bush (for all of his bad decisions) had little if not nothing to do with the recession. I'm aware that the President should convince Congress and consumers into making better decisions but c'mon. Who actually does what the President says? We're in recession because of lenders and consumers making bad decisions that the President has no power over.

Even if my life does get back on track because of the Republican house's effect on the banks, what if I make a bad investment with what the bank loans me? I can lose everything AND be in debt. But the main thing that has bothered me all these years is the low wages the working class get. They deserve much more.

Or rather, we refuse to acknowledge the reality that a starving child made my pair of shoes. An underpaid laborer butchered my steak. A legally enslaved immigrant grew and harvested my tomatoes. These people live in such horrible and unsanitary conditions that it's hard to believe we get our wants and needs from such hellish places. It's all because of greed.

It's not America's fault, but it's the fault of greedy corporations and the foreign trade policy. Even the corporations in Mexico and China are to blame for letting their people succumb to such horrible labor with unsatisfying rewards. A lot of positions are filled up, I'm hearing more laws are going to be passed in my city to make it a crime to feed/give money to the homeless so right now I'm pretty much screwed because of the bullshit rules of this city. But believe me, I am trying VERY hard to get a better life.
