There are two reasons why they are "trying" to pass SOPA. 1. They want you to stop talking/thinking about NDAA. Media will not talk about NDAA but about SOPA for another months. Many will forget about NDAA and in the end wont even think about it. 2. They started a discussion about SOPA and now media (gov media) will say good things about those supporting SOPA and will soon call those who doesn't want SOPA a pirates/terrorism supporters. Then in  about a year SOPA will pass. Just my thoughts.
