Nothing but trouble with this laptop. The computer totally freezes randomly, especially when using the Radeon 5470.
Also: the touchpad doesn't have a scroll function. The touchpad and mouse buttons are crap too.
The port layout does suck too, for example the one USB port as mentioned earlier. However, if only the hardware worked, it would be a good deal for the price. In its current state (no software update yet has resolved the problems), I can only say one thing: avoid.
@maggiingi1 I've played all my games at max settings. However, the sole mouse button is very stiff so you might want to buy an external keyboard or consider reconfiguring your game console to other keys.
Pro: large HDD space; large memory; webcam; dedicated ati video board
Cons: crap sound (really bad); only 3 USB ports -one sits very uncomfortable close to the right hand where the mouse is; very low display resolution; led lights are to shiny in the night.
Conclusion: not happy with it, i'm thinking to resell it!
@MrSillyBug sound is crappy, ill give you that, but other than that, this is hands down the best machine for the money.
low screen res? wtf man? led lights too shiny? turn the brightness down!
oh and by the way, this thing runs black ops with no problem whatsoever, connected it to my hd tv, put the resolution and everything else low, and it runs brilliantly.
i really recommend buying this. for this money, there is no topping this.
@dunkafucker I agree,it's a pretty sweet machine.Games all run at max settings & I can multitask like mad.The only things I really don't like are the sound and the lone mouse button.Bought a Logitech z305 soundbar for 60 bucks and its sound is now magnificent.I'm saving up the 100 bucks for the new Japanese external trackpad with twin buttons for easier lefthanded gaming.Next time I'll buy an MSI gaming laptop so I won't have to shell out for these things, but on the whole I'm happy.
@lee4samurai I'm GriffioenRico, this is my new account.
I think the version with the i3 uses the same motherboard, so I think it can be upgraded. I'm not sure because some manufacturers like to solder their processor to the motherboard. I don't think an i7 would work as there are only versions of this laptop with an i3 or i5. i7 uses the same socket but the motherboard needs to support it too.
Sadly, according to MSI, the motherboard only supports up to 4GB RAM in total, so no.
I ordered just just1x 4GB RAM for testing, because CX620 3D use the same motherboard as my CX620, and it's equiped qith 2 x 4GB RAM. 95% of components are the same on both notebooks, if it's ok, i'll reply here, and buy an additional 4GB - we shall see.
Thank you very much for the objective answer, you are a good man trying to help the community; to be honest - people like you make the difference! :)
@AllThingsRico Well, I came back with a tested answer. The MSI CX620 support 8GB RAM, I did not even had to update my Bios. The 50$ upgrade works excellent ! The best investment for my notebook.
Of course it differs. With Wi-Fi switched on, may be between 1.5-2 hours. It can last less if you are using the video card with dedicated memory. It is a 6-cell battery and the usual standard for it is between 1 and 2 hours.

@stroe14 No, sadly, it does not. It does have ESata. The version with the i5 processor is one of the best bang for your buck laptops in my country.

@GriffioenRico If i3 processor is installed on this machine, can thr motherboard support i5 or even i7?
AND upgrade from 2 x 2GB RAM to 2x4GB RAM?
Thank you ! :)
