i just stumbled on to the world of EC'ing here on youtube and am amazed at the results all you parents have had. i'm a full-time nanny and though i'm still researching EC, i'd like to be able to offer this as an option to the families i work with (and definitely when i have my own kids!). thanks for sharing!
I never would have dreamed of this- I knew all about how mothers in India don't put nappies on their babies but here in the West- I never thought of it. I am so excited to try this out when I have my baby in December!
my daughter has had a "pee cry" since she was about 4 weeks old. It's a high-pitched yell. If I put her on the potty when she does that, she'll always pee. Also, sometimes she gets really fussy. If I know she isn't hungry, it's probably because she wants to pee.
Usually I catch pees by timing - if it has been 20-30 min since he went, I offer the potty. If he's just woken from a nap/for the morning I offer the potty. If he's just finished nursing for awhile, I offer the potty.
He'll also start getting fussy and that often means he needs to pee. If he's fussing I generally offer the potty then offer to nurse.
@nubiansnowchic With boys it is a little easier to tell when they have to pee, because their penis will become slightly erect just before they 'go'. I help my friend with her baby, who has been EC'ed since birth. He will fuss and cry before peeing or pooing-- sometimes I would question whether he was telling me he didn't want to potty, but if his penis was standing up, I would try a bit longer and viola! he would 'go'.
great job kid

ok, most of us have seen the "baby poopy face", but how can you tell when they have to pee?
