I heard that the Oakland Occupiers are calling for a Burn Your Credit Card Day on November 25. Everyone with credit card interest rates over 8% burns their card in front of a bank at noon. They think this will stick it to the banks for causing so much misery with high credit card rates.
@TheAgapejohn Try researching what these protests are about. Contrary to what the news is telling us all, they are not about instituting socialism and ending capitalism. They are about democracy and ending intrusive corporate involvement in the making of policy that holds authority over us all. I have done the research. I have searched the internet for what their purpose is and I have gone to Wall Street in person to find out. The news is not covering this truthfully.

These are some really good cops. They put up with so much that they dont have to. I take my family to the Arcata plaza, and we cant go there because of these hey can go protest on private land where they are welcomed. The plaza is for everyones use, and us taxpaying Arcatians should have full use. We cant with the tarps and tents now. Thank you APD!!

Occupy Arcata definitely needs to step up their game and follow suit with the rest of the movement. i heard that today they unanimously approved of a Good Neighbor Policy - which involves a Zero TOLERANCE Drug And Alcohol policy, A Zero Tolerance Violent speech and action policy, among other things. Hopefully OA can learn to work WITH this amazing and forward thinking community.

I am proud of all the Occupy folks in Arcata, Humboldt, Eureka and around the US. Virtually none of the protestors could articulate the issues they were fighting for, and the panhandling was more aggressive than i've scene is a really long time. Thank you, Arcata police department! I'm so sick of these people "occupying" the plaza. The police did nothing wrong in this video. If you break the law in this country, you get arrested. Cops carry mace for their own protection. Given how much people were trying to interfere with their jobs, these gentlemen showed considerable restraint and professionalism.
