  • the coloratura is sooooo hard here, especially for figaro ("she's smart but so am I") but I forgive everything because we also have some great acting!!!! and Joyce is unbelievable even in her weelchair...

  • You know what screams opera? A Reitman's cardigan. And a blond ponytail.

Spagnoli struggles with the fiorature even with a heavy H dividing the notes.

  • Pietro Spagnoli is one of the best singers I know!

  • 10 stars

  • Please, please post more of this sublime performance! Thanks.

  • I meant to ask before, but how did she end up in the wheelchair? =/

    And does she need comforting?

  • she fell during the first performance, right after the "Una voce poco fa" and broke her fibula, but now she's back on two feet ^^

  • @DessayBestSinger OMG! She really did "break a leg" then! I hope no one said that to her before the performance... maybe they all just said "toi toi toi"

Can I make a "dramatic" soprano joke? No? Too soon...

    ;D

    Heal quickly, Joyce!

  • well told everybody on her blog never ever ever to say "break a leg" to her ^^

I guess you can make your joke, since I don't think Joyce will mind ^^

  • she*

  • @DessayBestSinger LOL well I pretty much made my joke. I was going to say "I didn't know Joyce was a dramatic soprano!" ;D

  • She's an amazing mezzo-soprano X3 Amazing, and crazy at the same time. I mean, how many opera singers would keep on singing in a wheelchair after breaking a leg????? xD

  • 10/10 for Joyce DiDonato! Wonderful post! Thank you so much! Kind and warm regards,

  • I won't get tired of saying she's amazing :) Thanx for the video!
