You have to put it in perspective with other ancient civilizations. For instance, the Romans, whom we see as a sophisticated and highly civilized people, killed just as many thousands in their coliseum. The difference is that while Mesoamericans did it to honor the gods, the Romans just did it out of sadism, because it was fun. So in the case of public killings, who was more barbaric?

If there were sacrifices, especially thousands, where are the remains? The spanish clained there were sacrifices and the rest of the world believed it. That codice (picture) shown at the beginning was done after the arrival of the Spanish. Compare the true codices that survived and you can see the difference in the that the originals all the people are sitting and where they do stand the figures are very small compared to those shown. There just is no proof!

Do you actually agree the ritual sacrifice of sometimes hundreds of people at a time? These people were cut up alive. We brought our filth with us yes, but meanwhile you're eating from it. What's more, let's say we never came.. there is a chance that you wouldn't be alive because your ancestors could have been sacrificed.

These rituals back then were reality. They were sacrificed willfully believing that in doing so they become one with the person sacrificing them. Many cultures around the world have done such things as well. They were not dishonored but rather done in honorable fashion. Crazy yes, tiny minded people. No, people forget that they had knowledge that was one of the most advanced compared to other cultures around them at the time.

Aztec history is mostly told by the 'conquerors' so I really dont believe none of their story. Prisoners were being executed? You know there were other cultures that did that and still do to this day. Nothing of difference really... Who surpassed who doesn't matter to me. It has nothing to do with nations or anything. Its far deeper then that.

I am not against europeans, although you may believe otherwise, but it is incorrect to state that a lot of us would not be alive because of human sacrifices, since more died during the arrival of europeans. Also, I know human sacrifice is still not justifiable even if it was part of our culture and beliefs, but european did much worse things to the natives, such as burning them alive in groups of three to honor their God, Jesus Christ. So I believe I've made my point.
