Personally I have great memories of Italy, my team went to Italy and fucked them in their own backyard and knocked them out of the world cup. That is a memory that brings a smile to my face.

As for stars won, in 1934 an argentinian scored in the semi and another argentinian scored in the final for Italy and in 2006 you had an argentinian in your team too.
Plus add to that all the stars that have gone to Italy over the years to teach you how to play football.
You are right about outplacing us in the last 4 world cups, too bad your football is so forgettable that only italians remember it. I remember some Baggio magic in 94 and a good game against Germany in the 2006 semi final.
