  • Accent impressionnant ! Superbe .

  • bravo vous etes vraient la plus belle

  • perfect rendition. ♥

  • fantastique!

  • I am impressed Vietnamese people can speak good French before the fall of Saigon 1975. I finished High school with the communist Vietnam education, I passed the final high school exam and scored 80 in French and couldn't say how are you in French.

  • This is so great, truly talented.

  • She is the best Vietnamese singer sing in French I remember all these songs and her voice everywhere in the 70s

  • No cabe duda que las mujeres son la misma historia aqui y en china... quien tenga oidos que entienda...

  • I believe her version is the one I first heard it. Brings back many good memories, thanks to my best friend and foster brother who are Vietnamese. Playing Vietnamese French music in the middle of Texas!

  • Her voice is not unlike Teresa Teng's. This is a song Teresa Teng could've sung had she been into French.

  • Excellent French. Perfect

  • @FERRAT1953,

Hi, her French is impeccable, sounds like international or higher education French. I did not know about this singer. Thank you for sharing this version with the community. I am impressed by her voice and also by the orchestra that supports her signing.

    Thank you,

PS: 1953 was a very good year indeed!

  • damn...I miss these times....I remember listening to this as a kid with my aunts and uncles

  • @hivelocity100 - Thank you for visisting my page and listening to Thanh Lan's songs. Yes, I agree. Listening to Thanh Lan's songs does bring back a lot of memories. Enjoy!

  • her french is actually pretty good-- back in the day, most vietnamese knew how to speak french, i would know this since most of my family is vietnamese and they speak pretty fluently....this is a good cover. lovely.

  • To me Thanh Lan has been the best Vietnamese singer in this song! Thank you for posting.

  • @tanphannhat : I agree. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Wow..compare Sylvie Vartan and Thanh Lan side by side..their voices are almost identical..amazing..beautiful..Cám ơn bạn đã post bản nhạc này...

  • Appreciating this heavy-accent version because of personal and cultural preference is quite comprehensible; and Im certain that this singer was quite a star in Vietnam, but placing her on the same list with Sylvie Vartan is rather a controversial statement.

  • I wonder how Sylvie would do singing in Vietnamese.

  • FYI, French is not Sylvie's native language. No offense, but I don't think Sylvie would have admired the sound of Vietnamese.

  • @TheMiddleLinebacker

And you know that Sylvie "would not have admired the sound of Vietnamese" because?........you know her personally and she told you that?

  • @TheMiddleLinebacker Yes, we all know that Sylvie was Bulgary born. But she, SV, grew up in France. Other singer, Thanh Lan, she lives almost 40 years in Vietnam; and the weather and water that local people consume may have had effect on their Vocal.

But let not compare star to star. Each has his/her own talent and style. Best regards, ST

  • Thanh Lan's French accent wasn't heavy at all. Are you a native-French speaker? I don't think that kieudat's comment was insulting Sylvie Vartan. Both singers' voices were suitable for their time. That sort of sound was desired, and therefore both singers were popular. Vietnamese is a rich and poetic language. What singer would not appreciate that? Your opinion does not reflect that of Sylvie's.

  • Vulgarpurity:

Nobody said anything about Kieudat's comments being insulting; I said they are controversial. As for my opinions, they don't have to reflect anyone's on this planet, including Sylvie's.

I just simply believe that Sylvie is, by far, a more talented singer. You should not be offended by my genuin believe.

  • I'm not at all offended. You seem to be a bit defensive, however. One should not post a biased opinion. You don't seem to appreciate the Vietnamese language.

I agree. Sylvie was a great singer. Enough said.

  • @TheMiddleLinebacker

    Vocally she's better than Sylvie.

  • Do you know where I can buy Thanh Lan's music before 1975, especially her french songs. I love her voice. Thank you

  • Sorry I don't know. I don't think they reprint her pre75 songs since it may not be a big market waiting .. hehe. Will try to post a few more for you , whenever I have time.

    Cheers

  • Thank you for posting!

  • She is such a great singer! Can you please up load the song apres toi by her as well?

  • love it.

  • Merci! :)
