Bhut means "Ghost" comes from Hindi/Assamese. Assam is the state where this Chilly was tested before it was sent to Guiness book. The govt research lab is there. Naga is name of a community. so it's call as Naga Jalokia also. This chilly is mainly found in 3 states of North east India viz Assam, Nagaland and Manipur. in Manipur it's call as Oo morok. Morok means Chilly. So it's basically local names.
