  • Your equations are messed up as you have the wrong formulas. Because bismuth and magnesium ions are bivalent, they donate 2 electrons to the chlorides, which can only ACCEPT one - so;

    Bismuth Chloride=BiCl2

    Magnesium Chloride=MgCl2

  • oh wait, nevermind, i was thinking of AlO.

  • doesn't Al make insoluble AlCl? You would have it mixed into the bismuth precipitate. Mg would make soluble MgCl that can be washed out.

  • There aren't pepto-bismol or similar in Germany :-( But i want some Bi for my elements collection

  • @MrLol333

    sorry i cant help much but maybee you could buy some of ebay?

    you should be able to get some somewhere germany makes the purest and best chemicals anywhere in my opinion

  • @jamjarchemistry Use Al no need to waste Mg on that.

  • @MrLol333 there must be another medicine with the same active chemical...

  • oh, man, thank you so much, I've been wanting to do this for so long and I finally know how. Thank you for posting this. I now have something to do next weekend.

  • @nightmarexbat
