id get a little stiffer of a pole, and lower your grip a tiny bit until you're used to that pole. and yeah you did rock back kinda fast. your technique looks pretty great tho
you just need to "finish" your take off to set up your down swing to add energy to the pole. You need to swing as soon as possible once you FINISH your take-off. Your take off is finished when you get an excellent stretch with your head infront of your top hand and swing leg extended back behind you...this sets up a powerful swing and will help you get deeper into the pit
You need to really power off the ground at take off, bring your left hand about a hand or a little less, closer to your right hand and you also need to really have a good left arm when you take off. good luck
too big of a pole and he's pulling down with his left arm on take off resulting in an epic fail. Push up with your hands...pull once your pole is done recoiling
2. dont pull with your left arm, keep driving both high
3. COVER ALL CONCRETE AROUND LANDING AREAS before someone gets killed please. find old wrestling mat, old pits.. anything just get it covered. its against the rules as is for one thing.
jdip514, are you stupid? his step is out like 4 inches, which is no big deal. He is just holding way too high on too stiff of a pole for how fast and strong he is. and with that late and low plant, with no bottom arm, this guy will never get in on that pole.
Lower your grip and go to a smaller pole please...
and... thats why we wear helmets

you're over gripping, come down a few hand grips on the pole to allow you to penetrate more into the pit

i wouldnt say the pole is to stiff he nearly broke it

all he has to do is push his bottom arm out and hang for a bit instead of swinging up the second he jumps off the ground

what does brand have to do with anything on that jump?
aim4beijing 3 years ago
yeah it looks like to me on that vault, you dropped your shoulders too early
instead, you should've held the plant a LITTLE longer and you would penetrate better.
i was having the same problem when i just moved to my 14' 160lb pole. but yeah i held the plant longer and it works better now
