Glide-By of the abandoned Skyway station in Tomorrowland

I wish they would have kept the building up but just used it for something else. It was a big part of WDW history, and aside from that, it was a pretty cool looking piece of architecture. ....I miss the old Tomorrowland.

i don't hold any attachment to the disney world skyway,so i cant say i feel bad that the buildings were torn down. the fantasyland skyway station here in anaheim still stands 15 years after it colsed. the trees have overgrown it so much you wouldn't know it's there if you'd never seen it. if it were torn down i'd feel saddened. mostly because it's a place where walt disney actually stood. that's what makes it a landmark. having it there barely visible among the trees is somehow comforting to me.

I say that since the skyway has been closed the two stations should have both been torn down and use the space for something else.Whether it be rides or an eatery or even just a meet and greet area,it is valuable space in WDW.I am from the old school and I grew up watching disney on tv,I'm 52 yrs old.I fully believe in the original stuff and leave the originals when adding new things.But if this ride is never going to re-open then take down the structures and put something useful in both areas

They didn't completely destroy it. They just left the bottom half and took out the top.

I remember having my picture taken on the stairs during New Years Eve 1983...Very sad to see memories turn into just that.

I dont get why they demolished the tomorrowland skyway station! It was history and Disney got rid of it. Shame on you Disney. Shame

@ClubpenguinCutie7 Exactly! They did the same with the wand at Epcot! Just dumped it by the Epcot parking lot, bits and pieces of the iconic wand just trashed. Shame on you Disney!

@ClubpenguinCutie7 Why not? If It is just going to sit there taking up space, get rid of it! They could put a new ride/attraction there. If you meant why they stopped using it, someone died fixing it so WDW got rid of the ride but left the station.

ALSO, HOW WOULD PEOPLE FEEL IF THEY DEMOLLISHED THE FERRIS WHEEL AT MOREY'S PEIRS (you know, been all over the news. Happened in Wildwood, NJ. You get it)? NO ONE WOULD LIKE IT! NOT BECAUSE IT IS A RIDE BUT, IT IS THERE TO HONOR THE GIRL WHO DIED ON IT! THAT IS WHY THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT THE SKYWAY STATION!

1. a little museum that shows revolutionary inventions of the past and new inventions being developed

2. If you like history then they could revive the noodle station

3. A place where kids can take pictures with characters such as buzz lightyear and emperor zerg

4. That thing in down town disney where you build your own roller coaster but also put one there

5. An arcade with a "tommorow" theme

6. Restrooms

3. they have them all over the park

4. they have that sin Disney Quest and they dont want another

5. they have arcades in all the hotels

@ClubpenguinCutie7 listen i'm done arguing over something that has already happen. Walt Disney was big on adaption so his park will always be changing and advancing. Disney world will keep all the rides but keep in mind how many times they've refurbished rides to update them. If we followed your example then nothing would ever change.

Its now gone and a new live show stage and restroom building have been put in it's place. Funny part is I didn't even realize it was gone until I walked passed the other end of the old ride.

ohhh thts what tht was i totally 4got about tht, i knew it may have been the skyway station, the other one is near fantasyland and the haunted mansion, i dont know what you can do there now??

i dunno why Disney leaves these buildings standing to rot and rust...everytime i'm there seeing them is a constant reminder of a bygone era that will NEVER return. It's kinda like a slap in the face.

Probably too expensive to take it down, no reason to, and it houses bathrooms. I like it being there; even if it doesn't house the skyway anymore, it reminds me of when it used to be there and it makes me happy.
