You were FORCED to pay into "unemployment". It was part of your State TAXES. If you NEVER lost a job or used your "unemployment" benefits, you would NEVER get that money back. It would be GIVEN to someone ELSE who you don't know. THAT person made YOU work for THEM against YOUR PERSONAL WILL.

If it were "collecting monies owed" then you should ONLY be able to collet the EXACT amount of money that was taken from you by force AND NO MORE and you should ALSO get ALL money paid in (plus interest and what you could have made with that money if you had invested it in the BEST stock or in a private business you MAY have started.

It’s not like the standard welfare payment can give you an easy life. What alternative do you propose for these people (go find a job is not an answer), if they could be working do you really think they'd settle to stay on the poverty line?

@jhamm999 Those programs have also been raided of funds to pay for other costs; restructured properly and run effectively, they would do quite well.

Mate, we have such an outrageous deficit because Regan, then Clinton, and finally Bush deregulated the finance industry which opened the door for shady practices such as derivatives trading, to name a one of the major causes.

The out of control Bank/ Finance industry and its influence on government is what's killing this country.

@TheTruePooka no i think obama putting off the effective date until 2012 and 2014,was because if he won another term the voters can't do anything to him. but he will be a one termer unless the economy does a 180. the cbo they used to show it would not raise the deficit hid the true cost because it did not factor in the doctor raise in medicare reimbursements.also the tax raises will not come to fruition because a lot is on rich people unlike the mandate,who will just shelter their money

Discover fined me 50 dollars for paying a bill on the due date. It was due on the 8th, I paid on the 8th, but then they say it has to be before 3PM or some bs like that. This time of day was not mentioned or explained on the bill which simply said July 8th was the due date. If someone says something's due on a day w/out saying the time, it should be available to pay at any point that day. This is deception. The only difference btwn financial services & organized crimes is mobsters have courage

Having a credit card does mean you have to carry a balance. Almost everything I buy I use a credit card for but I pay it off every single month. This has helped me attain a very high credit rating.
