If you REALLY cared about those on welfare, you would work to END welfare so that those addicted to stealing could really get well and get a job and those who are being FORCED to give "charity" (ahem... slavery) could live in a FAIR society where ALL are free! Perfect? NOTHING is PERFECT, but Socialism is the WORST this world has to offer.
@yakyakyak69 I'd be curious if you could answer one question. At one point did I mention welfare?
Because unemployment is NOT welfare. I PAID INTO that system for unemployment. As did everyone else who WORKS.
Suggesting unemployment is welfare is insulting and an insult to the good, hard working Americans that the Republicans have screwed over with their redistribution if wealth and theft.
You were FORCED to pay into "unemployment". It was part of your State TAXES. If you NEVER lost a job or used your "unemployment" benefits, you would NEVER get that money back. It would be GIVEN to someone ELSE who you don't know. THAT person made YOU work for THEM against YOUR PERSONAL WILL.
When one person FORCES another person to work for them against their will THAT IS SLAVERY. (duh)
Slavery (redistribution of labor) is ALWAYS wrong... PERIOD.
You should absolutely sue THAT drunk driver for hitting you. Just don't go next door and rape your neighbor's wife because "society owes you".
If it were "collecting monies owed" then you should ONLY be able to collet the EXACT amount of money that was taken from you by force AND NO MORE and you should ALSO get ALL money paid in (plus interest and what you could have made with that money if you had invested it in the BEST stock or in a private business you MAY have started.
Unemployment taxes, welfare, corporate bailouts, gov't grants to giant corporations, robbery, rape... whatever. Taking something that is not PERSONALLY and FREELY given is ALWAYS WRONG!
I seem to remember a presidential candidate saying he'd take a pay cut when he got the job.... the Republicans were quick to call him a communist and he lost the election. Kinda speaks volumes for their hypocrisy over Big Government Spending
"If some men are entitled by rights to products of the work of others, it means that those others being forced to provide are deprived of their rights and are condemned to slave labor. There can be no such thing as the right to enslave even for the welfare of others."
In the USA, 50% who pay taxes are Slaves to 50% who work for gov‘t, live on Welfare, Socialist Insecurity, Unemployment or some other gov’t “program”. The Progressive-Socialists are Slavers!
Wow. I can't believe you actually described people receiving social security benefits as slave drivers. You know it’s called social security for a reason.
@b0b0maj0 When ONE group forces ANOTHER group to give them their wealth which is representative of their labor & life span, then the first group is IN FACT enslaving the second. THERE IS NO RIGHT TO ENSLAVE!
There is NO Socialist Insecurity "Trust Fund". It is a pyramid (Ponzi) scheme that was raded LONG AGO so those in Congress could pander for "votes" from the slavers.
When Madoff did it, he went to prison. When Fwank, Dodd, Pelosi et al do it they buy votes.... Equal Justice? SOCIALISM
Yeah right on man down with taxes and all that junk. I'm not familiar with the US system so I can't comment about that. Buying votes? I think not. It’s not like the standard welfare payment can give you an easy life. What alternative do you propose for these people (go find a job is not an answer), if they could be working do you really think they'd settle to stay on the poverty line?
"if they could be working do you really think they'd settle to stay on the poverty line?"
Yes! It's called generational welfare. One of the GREAT gifts to mankind is our natural ability to adapt so that we can more easily find happiness and contentment.
People HATE and FEAR change. They become USED to taking from a faceless "gov't", ignoring the fact that they are taking from their neighbors while retarding their own and humanitys potential which comes from NEED.
@b0b0maj0 I'm out of touch? Is it because I understand that stealing is ALWAYS wrong even if the majority votes for it? Is it that I understand that enslaving some for the benefit of others is ALWAYS wrong even when the law says that you can? Is it that I understand that printing money out of thin air and loaning it to someone at interest is ALWAYS wrong even when central bank does it? Is it my understanding that feeding dependance ALWAYS weakens the dependant AND those who feed them? What?
You're out of touch because you claim to know everyone's economic circumstances and conclude that welfare recipients are nothing but lazy parasites. Enough with the we're slaves rants, go live in the wild or move to a country with weak government if you think it's so bad, instead of bitching about how much you're paying due to governmental incompetence and corporate corruption.

At the Bush administration and Republicans for their unashamed power lust and greed, at the Democrats for being a bunch of wimps who plea weakness at stopping such actions while I suspect it's a sham act and they back that kind of policy out of their own greed, at the American people for allowing themselves to be fooled over and over again by this bullshit.
You know this isn't the first time this pattern has played out.
@TheTruePooka good. then we agree on that . but the driving force behind the growth of govt spending is the entitlement programs. but no one has the courage to tend to it. bush tried by wanting to let younger people to take a portion of theirs and invest the way they want. of course it was decried as taking food out of grandma's mouth. now bush signed a prescription plan that is screwy, now we have obamacare, all will further ballon the deficit for years to come. is greece our future?
@jhamm999 Those programs have also been raided of funds to pay for other costs; restructured properly and run effectively, they would do quite well.
Mate, we have such an outrageous deficit because Regan, then Clinton, and finally Bush deregulated the finance industry which opened the door for shady practices such as derivatives trading, to name a one of the major causes.
The out of control Bank/ Finance industry and its influence on government is what's killing this country.
@TheTruePooka actually deregulation adds nothing to the deficit. if thefeds were to adhere to the restraints the constitution puts on them we would have an economy that would put china to shame.
@jhamm999 Ugh. I suppose this ends it. You're starting to go the route of the pat libertarian responses and that generally suggests that the person doesn't have a clear grasp on economics, history, or psychology.
I did a video; "Libertarian vs. State" if you want to get a brief sum up on my views on that.
@TheTruePooka actually i'm a conservative, not a libertarian. but if you read the constitution it gives you a great blueprint on how our country should be run.
@jhamm999 And WHAT Obama-Care? What we have is reform that is so pathetic as to not be reform. All we've done is create a few new rules and regulations that not only bolster private health insurance control of American health care but they've been used as an excuse to drive up costs.
Why do you think they set the start date for 2012? So that P.H.I. companies can get their lawyers into court to redefine that legislation and twist it to their advantage.
@TheTruePooka individual mandates, the price tag is off about 500 billion. the start date is because obama is planning to be in his second term when the stuff hits the fan. it is a personal freedom killer.
@jhamm999 Could you be more specific? It's been a while since I read anything on the health-care bill and I don't really recall it.
You really think Obama will win another term? That's not a bet I'd be willing to take. Considering how weak his Presidency has been, and how effective the Republicans have been at using the media to attack him? I'd be about as surprised at a Democratic victory as I would at space aliens showing up on my doorstep.
@TheTruePooka no i think obama putting off the effective date until 2012 and 2014,was because if he won another term the voters can't do anything to him. but he will be a one termer unless the economy does a 180. the cbo they used to show it would not raise the deficit hid the true cost because it did not factor in the doctor raise in medicare reimbursements.also the tax raises will not come to fruition because a lot is on rich people unlike the mandate, who will just shelter their money
@jhamm999 Are you talking about the scheduled 22% cut to medicare that they're dickering over? That's not hidden, it's just up in the air as to how it will fall out.
They have actually been being a lot harder on the wealthy when it comes to hiding their money. But I'm sure they'll still make out quite well.
But none of this is actually the; "Obama-care" that people spoke of. That was the public option, which did not happen. This is all just shoddy attempts at juggling the books.
@TheTruePooka no i was talking about when they took it to the cbo to score it they hid the cost to the doctors to raise their pay on medicare and medicaid. if you remember obama never pushed for the public option after senate dems told him they would get skinned alive in nov.
