Shaman King wasn't cancelled.

It was only a 63 episode long series by Shonen Jump. It was never supposed to be longer than that. However, they left the ending a cliffhanger, in case they wished to start it up again.

@elite797 they didn't cancel it they ended it like that because they couldn't figure out how to do a proper one because the anime passed the manga which was the proper story in the manga it ended with zeek or hao becoming the proper shaman king but turned good in the end
