It should work with the newest build of any mame out there. As far s i know all the newest mame builds support the new xml cheat file setup.

Go to the Mame Cheat Files Section and download the one with the most recent date. Then put that file in the base directory of your mame installation. After that is finished go to the game properties and enable cheats under the misc section.

You can but the codes is different on 1.4 you have to pick riptor to do it.I dont remember the code right off the top of my head but just google it.

Yeah. I know the code:

Pick Riptor - hold LEFT+LP+MP+LK, then hold RIGHT+MP+HP+HK.

But I'm not sure of the specifics of when to hold where. I've tried it but to no avail.

I'll give it a go report back.

(Anyone gotten 'kinst15' to run on MAME32? I don't want to upgrade MAMEs just to run ver1.5 if I don't have to.)

Its during the vs screen or whatever you call it.Where it shows the fmv of the two characters.

Mame32 is great works perfect on all versions of KI 1 and 2.If you have all of the system ROMs you can play neo geo and cps games on it too.

Yeah - got both KIs, many Neo (got AES system anyway!) and most all the Street Fighters. One peculiar thing does sometimes happen - some games (like Darkstlakers) dont work even though I hav the files it says I'm missing. : /

I'v chimed onto that changing the file name trick,but not even that works with some games. Is it becoz of the version of MAME I'm using ('MAME32.u901'). Do u know how to upgrade MAME? I DL'ed '0128s' but haven't a clue how to install it! lol

nice. MAME runs like crap on my sys though. I use a supernova with the PCB jamma board and power supply. hooked to a laptop seagate HD. Arcade perfect. but cant hack it though.
