  • 0.55 A Mighty Warrior, On his Pale Horse, overlooking the common people from his steed and waving his sword to give them the hope to fight and survive against the Demon Onslaught led by Belifiet

  • Man, look at those logos at the bottom. Black Isle, Bioware and Interplay. This really was the height of RPG gaming.

  • but the theme is kinda good

  • game sucks ass

  • Time for me to bust out 2nd Edition AD&D. Not this 3e 3.5e and 4e crap.

  • One of my favorite games, i even finished it once playing just with one mage... And on first playthrough i was so noobish i would never use pause :D (i was like 12 yo kid). Very nostalgic music It would be awesome to see new rpg game resembling this style and feel of iwd/bg or even torment instead nwn not to mention new stuff like da/me,,,

  • Earlier this year I made a show about the history if Interplay, and I used this song for the intro montage, it was probably the best part of the show.

  • @0:55 reminds me that there is hope for this world.

  • One of the best theme songs ever. Sounds so absolutely epic! Very rarely a soundtrack is that good. Thank you Jeremy Soule.

  • I spent months playing this game! Masterpiece!

  • If anybody gets tired of Skyrim's music, throw this soundtrack into the mix.

  • @NuclearSidewalk I replaced the Morrowind soundtrack with this on PC. Unfortunately I only have Skyrim on 360, and the soundtrack's quite forgettable (other than the main theme)

  • This song got me so pumped to re-roll character stats one-hundred and twelve times!

"DunDunDunDunDunDunDunDun come on 18/00 for strength! DunDunDunDunDun!"

  • The peak of game making.

  • Once I will make a movie clip, where will play this song. It will be about a hero, who prepares his gear for an adventure...

  • @georgevana please don't

  • @KARAFFAN thank you for your advice mr. killstreak and let me have my dreams ;-)

  • @georgevana ok mr fine memory crucrush

  • They can keep their heaven. When I'd die, I'd rather go to Faerun, Middle Earth or Westeros.

  • One of the most epic pieces I had the pleasure to hear in my short life, sends shivers down me spine EVERY time I listen to it. I still regard this as the best RPG I've played, thanks to it I dug deeper into Bioware games and found out about the 2 masterpieces, Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment. (IWD was the only popular game in my region).

  • Music from a time when fantasy was still grim without trying to be ultra violent.

  • @13x1x20 Very true... Grim but beautiful.

  • Whoa.

I've been searching for this piece of music ever since I heard it on the NWN trailer that came with Baldur's Gate 2. Never actually played the original Icewind Dale. After hearing this... I'm gonna buy it. :D

  • They don't make games like this anymore, I love the old Interplay/blackisle DnD games. I have just started up a game of Icewind Dale. I think I will be trying to do full run through and record it for others to watch. Keep of my channel it will be coming soon. i just need some recording software.

  • That said, I'm just playing IWD through for the first time now and I have this to say: considering that I know the BG games like the back of my hand and know practically every way to break the game, IWD is a breath of fresh air. The combat is consistently more challenging. It's just that... combat is all it is good for. From what I have seen thus far in the first game; there is little in the way of significant storytelling to be found.

  • I played NWN way back when it was released, and I was as disgusted by it then as I would be now. The problem wasn't in the game itself - I had great fun playing it online. As I was also relatively young, it was a great exercise in creativity, devising character builds, and I taught myself some rudimentary NWScript as well. Not to mention the friends I made while playing.

The biggest problem with it is the original campaign. It is, IMO, utterly dull and lacklustre compared to BG/PT.

  • All the good Times and hours I had with the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale Saga.... Best RPG's ever made :) and that soundtrack!

  • Icewind Dale is a masterpiece! `Nuff said...

  • AD&D and TSR forever. Fuck Wizards of the Coast and its horrible aesthetics' sense.

  • and i want to go to arborea or elysium, or even better to Sigil.

  • They can keep their 'Heaven'. When I'd die, I want to go to Faerun, Middle Earth or Westeros.

  • I always preferred BG to IWD because the pre-made party members in BG made it a bit more enjoyable- that didn't stop IWD from being bloody awesome though!

  • @Acousterra Maybe I should've put it more appropriate, like: ''0:55 shivers me timbers!''

  • This theme ROCKS!

    Black Isle - Come BACK!!!

Hope, Obsidian will learn how to make stable games.

  • @SzybkiBen1 I believe that old Black Isle's members are already in bethesda... Oblivion, Fallout III & Skyrim company.

  • @Sigfrido1986

No, some of them (mostly "Fallout guys") left company to form rather unsuccessful Troika, rest is mostly in Obsidian, pity their projects are usually forced to launch quickly, so they don't have time to made them properly (KotOR II, NWN2 or Alpha Protocol just to name a few). Yeah, some of old squad might be in either Bethesda or BioWare, but that's only minority.

  • @MrLestatto Wasn't Obsidian expressing an interest in making IWD3?

  • Heard this song first time in NWN's trailer on Baldur's Gate 2 cd. It blew my mind, i thought NWN will be new BG. Oh, how wrong i was.

R.I.P. Infinity engine, best engine ever and all those great games with beautifuly painted 2d backgrounds :(

  • @CerebralHunter Absolutely. I first tried NWN last month and I was so pissed, disappointed about the gameplay, and the GUI is terrible. BG-IWD-PT are the best RPG games ever made and probably the last made.

  • @edab85 From a fellow BG/IWD/PT fan, Neverwinter Nights 1 is actually an epic and amazing game, with incredible music, involving and exciting plot, and in-depth character customization. You really should give it a chance and not just throw it aside for the strange new UI, which after some adjusting (such as setting the cam to driving and organizing the quick select bar) and getting used to isn't that bad at all.

  • massive erection at 0:55

  • possibly my favorite main theme

  • It's time for a great adventure !

  • Ahrg! This song! What pissed me of was that it was so damn short and never looped. So you were listening to this awesome song...for only a tiny time, and rolling up a decent party took ages!

  • @meanmanturbo That's why I put it on iTunes and looped it while I made my party :P

  • Ahhh, I remember so many times waiting in menu for 0:55

  • JIZZ OF NOSTALGIA

  • is there link where this soundtrack may be found and downloaded?

  • @mlarosa25 If you buy the games from GOG (they have both IWD and IWD2) then you get the soundtracks with the game (IWD comes with the soundtrack for the main game and for the expansion pack). Since the game is only $9.99 that its one heck of a deal even if you are only buying it for the music.

  • @mlarosa25 Also as fas as I know the actual soundtrack CD is no longer being made and I've seen it selling as high as $50 for a physical copy. Direct Song, which distributes the Guild Wars and Elder Scrolls soundtracks, doesn't have IWD either. Thus I'm thinking that GOG is probably one of the only places you'll find it.

  • OMG this music is soooo epic...

The dark and cold days are here,it's time for a new IWD adventure...

  • Most of IWD soundtrack was simply put, epic

  • It's time to save the world ! (again)

  • Downloading this game instead of buying it is an actual sin even if you're an atheist.

  • Jeremy Soule,... WE OWE YOU!!! He is THE man who is composing the best and the most epic music, we have honor to listen to,...

guys, remember Morrowind, BG, Kotor, unreal 2,... I love those games and now I know why :)

  • @flpsnk4848

Don;t you forget the original NeverWinter Nights game.

  • Hearing this alone is enough to make me dig out my copy of Icewind Dale and play it again...or better yet, play an old fashioned game of D&D with pen, paper and dice. Those were the days...

  • Those were the NICE days:)

  • EPIC

  • get ready for adventure...

  • hell yeah!!!

  • You can download the complete soundtrack in good quality. Hau rein und scheiß nich ins Nest!

  • @BelmontBitterman Where and how?

  • This is so cool, one of my favourite PC Game theme songs ever. Brings back great memories, too!
