  • I cannot believe the detail in this drawing! I follow you on your website and your tutorials are really great, please keep them coming! ^^

How do you build up the shading in your drawings? I find it hard to know where to start, if you get what I mean, obviously working from light to dark is a good idea but with hair do you start work with the finer hairs or bigger clumps and then work down?

  • @Poisedontheprecipice thank you. I usually add the darkest areas and use the white areas of paper to add the tones in between. I usually add the finer hairs and then with a kneaded eraser i create the clumps of hair. I usually work from the bottom up, meaning that i add the lower layers of hairs and then overlap the top layers. It gives the drawing much more depth and realism when you can see the layers of hairs.

  • Wow your drawing is just looking remarkable, you really have an eye for depth perception , I would love to learn your technique , you have such an amazing eye for detail and you must have an amazing amount a patience , I can't wait to se your sketch when it's completed, thanks for shareing :)
