  • Nicolaus Copernicus of Poland described the necessary monetary reform in his book and while working with the Polish Seym, he established in 1526 a new currency unit named “złoty.” Thus, zloty became a basic unit of the monetary system in Poland.

Copernicus published in Latin his book on monetary reform early in 1526 under title: “Monetae Cudende Ratio” in which, for the first time in history, he stated the law of currency that “bad money derives the good money out of circulation.”

  • please its not the Church founded by Jesus but the people of the Church have the mistake they are only human dont condem this temple it is sacred.. no one can reached the intellectual power of God no one thats why men always make a mistake

  • BUt hey, just discovered the only intelligent comment here is from an American. SO it should me mentioned that it is also a fact that the only advance progressive social thinking is in the US too. Hopefully the subversives will survive the galloping onslaught against human rights and freedom of speech.

  • @The Wizzoo

Of course the report is rubbish - it was made by members of officially the most illiterate nation in the Western world who are actually so ignorant they never hesitate for a second to flaunt it before the world... Would be funny, but isn't because nations, like Poland, now follow the US education system. Guess NO CHANCE for another Copernicus from there any more! Heheheh

  • Maybe if any of you that find it ironic outragous etc learned to read, you'd find out that not only Copernicus WAS the church (a happy and loyal cannon his entire adult life), but also that during Renaissance Poland, unlike Italy, any kind of physical persecution for heresy was impossible.

  • Church: Thanks for proving us wrong, heres a little pointless ceremony even though you're dead and not able to attend it.

  • Well, better late than never. Although I wonder what took them so long to do this, they've known the man was right for going on three centuries.

God bless you and keep you always, Nicolaus Copernicus. And now maybe they'll leave you alone.

  • who cares what the stupid christians condone lol

  • @kargenlewis copernicus was a christian

  • Scientists must be so happy this bunch of hocus pocus charlatans finally forgave them. As if they ever contributed anything to the world.

  • @paolo27th obvious troll is obvious

  • @grendelee Why? Is there anything incorrect in what I said?

Where is all the arrogance the catholic church diplayed in dealing with Galileo and Copernicus while they were alive? The church tried to mess with science and took a beating for their trouble! And now guess what, they want to play the reconciliation game. How convenient! Well, sorry, science doesn`t need you now!

  • Actually Coprernicus was a clergyman. He ruled the diocese of Warmia.

He proved his theories. He never had a problem about that.

  • @paolo27th lol my mistake. I thought you said that about the scientists. Been seeing alot of trolls lately

  • cpernicous always thought the world revolved around him.

  • I consider Copernicus as one of my heroes, and he was an Atheist too. This news is nothing but religious propaganda, like they "forgave" him for moving society forward...unlike religion which is still stuck in the middle ages all around the world.

  • @sugreev2001: Actually it was the catholic church that started the modern university system and first funded experiments in the name of science..

  • I'm sure Copernicus really wanted to be reburied by the same child molesting pricks that tried to ruin him 500yrs ago. If he were alive today he would not believe in Bronze Age Myth anyway.

  • Copernicus was a clergyman. He ruled the diocese of Warmia.

He could prove his works. And they were published.

He is the father of the modern astronomy.

Galileo could not prove his works. Because he mixed faith and science.

Galileo was friend of the pope.

Atheists and protestants have the same or worse record of child abuse. But hipocrite people try to cover up.

Right now governments dont fight against it.

  • Next Darwin =)

  • Copernicus proably couldnt be more offended. For him and all who died to give us real truth I pray for the catholic church to choke on their gods giant cock!

  • The Catholic Church has been setting humanity back for thousands of years. They burned thousands of human beings alive in public executions "to persuade" the observers to follow church doctrines. The Catholic Church is a insult to all humans. These people saying that Copernicus was a friend to the church are doing exactly what the Texas School Board recently did, they are rewriting history, No other organization has committed more atrocities on this planet than the Catholic church.

  • The atheists have killed hundred of millions of people in the 20th century. In only one century! Stalin, Mao, Lenin, Fidel Castro...etc

  • @Trickroad What was role of the Catholic church during WW2? Oh thats right...... the Pope at the time was helping Mussolini and Hitler. What the Catholic church did during WW2 was and is...... disgusting.

Satan is the secret leader of the Catholic church.... always was..... still is

  • The atheists took every political and military power from the catholic church in 1879, during the french revolution.

The catholic church didnt have any army, against military power of the atheists.

    You dont read history books.

    You just insult and insult.

  • @Trickroad Why the fuck did a religion have political and military power in the first place? This is exactly the same as the Taliban or how Saudi Arabia governs its country. Fundamentalist religions are a curse on humanity. All you need is a couple sentences in a holy book.... and suddenly its perfectly ok to cut a living human being into small pieces. Catholics are idol worshiping pagans pretending to be Christians

  • @monkeypeopleofearth dude what you are talking about happened over 300 years ago....let it go... lol.. its over..

i hate to see people get worked up over crap from long ago..while horrible things happen everyday.

  • @GravDiga Here's an idea.... shut the fuck up

  • Comment removed

  • @GravDiga she's busy licking your asshole

  • Comment removed

  • @GravDiga haha

  • The Big Bang theory of the origin of the universe, was formulated by the physicist Georges Lemaitre (A catholic priest)

    Why much hate???

People are starving in africa and in the third world, and the civilizated nations of the first world can´t do a shit!

    Only insults, only fight.

  • @Trickroad HAHA..... yeah, let's forget all the things that happened in human history. Let's rewrite history, let's put a smiley face on the corruption, murder, torture, homophobia, slavery, rape that has been done in GOD's name. Let's just forget all that and start fresh. Criticizing the Catholic Church should be illegal. UM.... not

  • Comment removed

  • @GravDiga make me laugh again.... it's fun.

  • All of that was evil.

But Atheists try to cover up the corruption, murder, torture, homophobia, slavery, rape, etc of the Atheists, of URSS, Cuba, Lenin, Mao Tse Tung, Fidel Castro, North Corea, etc...????

  • @Trickroad yeah right.... the Catholic Church, including his majesty the Pope, would never, ever consider COVERING SOMETHING UP? The Catholics prefer truth and logic. Like when Catholics hear something they "don't wanna believe", it's just easier to execute them. Silence is golden to Catholic ears. If the silence includes raping small boys, or getting on the internet and SPREADING COMPLETE LIES... then it's ok...... like you are doing.. about Copernicus

  • Protestants and atheist have the same or worst record in child abuse. But the media and the politicians try to cover up.

Right now, that evil shit is out of control in secular nations. And the goverments dont do anything.

  • @Trickroad I can see you are becoming a professional disinformer.

So lets ignore the effects of lack of education, injustice, mistakes, and blame it all to Atheism... hahaha. Look mate, you say Atheists do this more and that more, than Christians yeah? You know what, if Christians were indeed followers of Jesus, they should not do anything remarkably bad at all! Get it? Atheism does not promise anything. Its an answer to a question. ITs Christians that advertise perfection. HAHA

  • What would we like????

We would like that when we join a group, we would become perfect.

But life is not like that. We have to work in our perfection. And we have to seek the right ways.

  • @Trickroad You're a total idiot filled with some vile misrepresented propaganda

No one has ever killed anyone because they had a non-belief in sky zombies.

Just how a person who didn't smoke caught cancer from their non-habit.

  • Lenin and Stalin didn´t have believings in skycriatures. But they have killed millions.

And Mao tse Tung, Fidel Castro, North Korea have killed millions too.

Atheism is a big fail too.

  • @Trickroad Oh dont come again with the same bullshit. Mao tse Tung, Fidel Castro, Lenin and Stalin were not primarily Atheists. They were Primarily Sociopaths. Just like the torturers of the Spanish Inquisition were not all about the sermon on the mount and were kinked up pervy sociopaths, so are the people you mentioned. Atheism is not a valid stance for people that thing they are God, like Stalin. Stalin was no Atheist, he just disagreed on who they called God.

  • They were all atheists and every historian know it.

In every group there are bad and good persons.

  • @Trickroad "Lenin and Stalin didn´t have believings in skycriatures. But they have killed millions. "

Exactly No one has ever killed because they had a lack of a belief. Your logic is flawed. Every single dictator you mention led their people to kill because they wanted power. It's strange you don't mention Adolf Hitler He Killed many people but I know as well as you he was a hard core right wing christian

  • @GodKillerAtheist: Actually Hitler was not really a christian, his personal beliefs and acts prohibit him from even being considered a true christian.

  • @RockyBalboa211 You cant be alive and be a true christian because you always have the option to change while you are alive. Hitler shook hands with the Pope He was Killing the Jews because they killed Jesus. He was supported by the Main branch of the christian church. The NAZI party was a right wing Christian Organization. Hitler Is and will always be the ultimate model of what it means to be a Christian

  • @GodKillerAtheist your an idiot, and a disgrace to the title Atheist. Take a elementary holocaust studies class and you will see you are a walking talking fallacy

  • @YugoRokPhi So I'm a disgrace to a non belief? How's that work...dumb ass.

so hitler wasn't a Christian killing the Jews because they offended his religion huh?...well..

"I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."-Adolf Hitler

    Mein Kampf

Seems like you need to take a elementary holocaust studies class yourself. Hitler remains the Alpha Christian role model.

  • @GodKillerAtheist @GodKillerAtheist He banned religion from all of germany, people were only able to be married in athiest churches. God was never spoken of and however the common man may have been. Understand he wrote that book in prison and over 15 years prior to his rise to power. 15 years was obviously enough to change his views seeing that not only did he single out jews, but slavs as well who were orthodox christians. You are extremely misinformed.

  • @YugoRokPhi "people were only able to be married in athiest churches."

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Fail you fail so hard

  • @GodKillerAtheist Oh no another god hating atheist that majored in underwater basket weaving and claims to know everything. At least you demonstrated your smugness with your annoyingly long laugh.

  • @YugoRokPhi Let me be fair because you are at a obvious disadvantage knowledge wise. Atheists don't have churches we are against them. WE are Without Religion. I've read Mein Kampf I have a copy of it from high school we had to do a report on it so I bought it and read it to get the full story, not just propaganda from propagandists like you. The only Orthodox christians killed were the ones that went against his racist policy. In his eyes being Pro-Jew was to be Anti-Christian

  • @GodKillerAtheist You do know Hitler made his own religion and believe German's were descended from biblical figures who if bread together could make a master race. In my view we need to look more at a persons philosophy on the proper size of government. Hitler and Stalin both believed the government should be all powerful while most Western republics believe government should be controlled by the people. If you made a check list of policies you'd find atheist agree with Hitler in many areas.

  • @thebestsumoeva "Hitler and Stalin both believed the government should be all powerful"

    it's called totalitarianism

" If you made a check list of policies you'd find atheist agree with Hitler in many areas."

Atheism = non belief in gods.... how can I make a checklist of policies Atheists agree with? I'm Pro gun anti-abortion myself and I'm not Gay... What Atheist policies are there? Atheism is the lack of a belief, it can have NO policies, your logic is flawed.

  • @GodKillerAtheist You and me might get along. I'm no devout Christian but I believe in god. As to what god is I don't offer a clear answer. The Atheist I'm used to think absolute government control is necessary to control man kind, but don't realize governments are lead by man. I am a strong believer in freedom both personal and economic and from what I can tell the government is the best mechanism to changed people from free spirits into controlled animals devoid of decision making.

  • @thebestsumoeva I think you are confusing liberal policies with Atheism. True Many outspoken Atheists are Liberals but many more are conservatives like me. Republican/Conservative does not equate to Christian. Anarchism is the only true form of fair government. The only problem is that humans are not evolved enough to self govern and Anarchism fails.

  • @GodKillerAtheist I like that your Aesthetic and conservative. I'm not an aethiest, but I don't use god to back my political philosophy. While I do vote conservative I admit most conservatives today aren't conservative and more or less represent religious ideology. At any rate I believe for a country to be successful that law must be above every man equally. Modern day liberals think we should support justice over law, but don't realize this is what creates dictators above the law.

  • @Trickroad you are a FUCKING idiot....... can I get a thumbs up?

  • @Trickroad America is supposedly a christian nation (which it is not). America has killed MILLIONS of humans in the last couple of years

  • @Trickroad You seem to love your Satanic leaders and your satanic church very much. REPENT AND CRY OUT FOR MERCY TO GOD FOR BEING A SATANIC PAGAN CATHOLIC FOLLOWER OR BURN IN HELL FOOL!! Stop defending evil! Just because you named some evil Satanic leaders of the 20th century doesn't make your Catholic church any less evil, Satanic, or un-holy! Cry out to God for forgiveness for being a defender of the evil that masks itself behind the goodness and purity of the Christ God. Redeem yourself.

  • If I was Copernicus I would take that as YET ANOTHER INSULT by the Catholic church. Who wants to be blessed by that Un-holy Satanic Church with that Satanically sanctified un-holy water.... living OR dead? Only Satan's misguided fools do ....he has an army of misguided fools.

  • Copernicus was a catholic clergyman.

Copernicus ruled the diocese of Warmia.

He could prove his works and they were published.

He was friend of the pope.

  • @Trickroad Yeah, that's why they threatened to boil him in oil, and hang his remains in the town square. If Copernicus was an 11 year old boy when he made his discovery, they would have called a bunch of priests together and really showed him where the center of the universe was. Catholics are perverted, disgusting hypocrites

  • @Trickroad It's cool if you are a Catholic..... just be sure to BE ASHAMED of your self for being human

  • @monkeypeopleofearth

You just read dan brown´s shit. You dont read history books.

Atheists in only one century (20th) have killed hundred of millions. URSS, Stalin, Mao, China, Fidel Castro, Cuba.

    And you dont critice that.

  • @Trickroad I'm not interested in defending atheists. I'm here to make you look like an asshole............ hooray for me....... I succeeded !

  • @Trickroad what a good friend that Pope was to him in the end. Are you oblivious to the rest of his story? How is it do you think he ended up in an unmarked grave? How is it do you think he was ex-communicated? Because his friends liked him so much and thought he was a great guy?

  • You are confusing Copernicus with Galileo. The journalist too.

Copernicus lived almost 100 years before Galileo.

Copernicus was a clergyman, he ruled the diocese of Warmia.

Copernicus was the first one who formulate an heliocentric cosmology, which displaced the earth from the centrer of the universe.

Check by yourself in the internet.

  • @Trickroad If Copericus was such a catholic clerymen. WHY 500 years later, are they finally saying "I'M SORRY" for all the shit we did to you.

  • @Trickroad What did the Catholics think about Galileo? They threatened to torture and publicly execute him

  • Galileo was a devoted catholic, friend of the pope too.

Galileo failed at trying to prove his works. He mixed faith and science.

Copernicus, 50 years before, succeeded trying to prove his works which displaced the earth from the center of the universe. He didnt mix faith and science.

    Then, his works were published.

You can´t prove faith, you can prove science.

  • This is simular to what Jimmy Carter attempted. He said the US had passed peak oil production and we needed to make drastic changes while we could to the American people fired him as president and hired the biggest guzzlers to take his place. Now the world had passed peak production we have reversed everything Carter did and are consuming greater quantities of energy yet the American people act as it is their birth right to consume all they can now.

  • @cdltpx We need to place solar water heaters on every house we can, need to institute a park and ride system until we can get the light rail system installed,a higher quality rail needs to connect the US eastern seaboard with the western to get rid of all domestic flights.Intercontinental transport needs to move to ships rather than airplanes. New homes need to be constructed using passive heating and cooling. We need to support localized farming.

  • @cdltpx You REALLY need to look up on youtube: "lindsay williams peek dum"

  • @sunrise1834 Speak your mind what are you trying to say that we have no energy shortage. You need to watch the series of videos in my favorites"THE MOST IMPORTANT VIDEO" the first video is the first in a series of videos that explains how we are past peak oil the earth is over populated and explained from the standpoint of mathematics the numbers are and have been there to back him up.

  • I find it ironic that the Catholic Church is present at the funeral, being the ones that were responsible for making both Copernicus' and Galileo's lives miserable.

  • Copernico was a catholic eclesiastic.

    Friend of the pope.

    Father of the modern astronomy.

  • @Trickroad B U L L S H I T

  • @1RadicalOne Copernicus life wasn't miserable coz Poland in that tiome was religious tolerance country without both: catholic inquisition and without protestant fanatism

  • More tolerant, yes. Tolerant to anything approaching that in any western nation today - even the US - no.

  • @1RadicalOne It was You should read more about History of Europe in that time mate, btw Copernicus was a preist and even Des Cartes french philosopher who lived 250 years after Copernicus was geocentrist, it took 200 houndred years that elicentrism was admited by most of scholars, greets

  • It took 5Centuries for the Catholic Church to figure out that the Sun was the center of the solar system. Hopefully, if everything goes right, the religious wrong Republicans will figure out that Bush&Dick made up intelligence design and were wrong as usual. Of course, it'll be 2610. The Priests are raping children & the Islamic Nuts are murdering men, women, & children. And letsnot forget the Texas religious wrong Republicans rewriting history to make Bush&Dick look good.

  • @BertGriffin88 Lets not forget about the socialist Obama taking all your freedoms with a big smile on his face. Then again you'd probably be happy living under tyranny as long as everyone is equally poor and your supreme leader is in charge. After all the North Koreans are loving their free food, free health insurance, and free brain washing. Please quit being a tool.

  • You know I believe if it wasn't for the Roman Catholic Church acting this way, we could have been 100-200 years ahead in science and technology. Sounds funny,

  • @TheTravisChannel Although I agree with you, the Protestants are even worse now, especially in the USA. I think they would like to take us back 100-200 from where we are even today.

  • Copernicus was like today's Darwin.

Who really cares about what catholic church says. Who gave them an authority to do anything?

  • So this "religious" establishment claims that Copernicus (science) is a hero!? Science goes against everything religion has to say! No wonder the priests are pedophiles! They are confused!

  • People back then are just like people now, They dont know jack shit but will condemn/shun you for believing in things like Aliens or Ghosts. We would still be put to death for thinking such things is the church had complete control

  • More death worship...

  • Doesn't change the fact that they're still pedophiles.

  • @wafflethug i don't think all of them are. delusional? yeah, but benign more than anything.

  • who gives a shit if the church gives their blessing or not? the man shit on you holy egocentrics over 400 years ago and you still dont get it ..lol.

  • Yeah, like he gives a fucking shit what the church does.

  • bullshit!

  • @OMERTA011 Where? When? How? Why? No bullshit, Me saw known

  • @NB5BHVL I know that. what I wanted to say: it took 500 yrs for church to recognize him.

and now they are apologizing? what?

just a media stunt. or simply put: bullshit!

    peace and love from Serbia

  • @OMERTA011 AHHHH ! I understand now, And yes it's so true, I see the bullshit in there now,

  • wow
