Yea Lei Fang was a big disappointment. The person that played her was horrible. Wow, I had a COMPLETELY different opinion of the movie. My friends and I are big fans of the game and *because* of that, we hated this movie with a passion. I play DOA 4 online, and well.. Atleast they managed to get a british accent on Christie, I was surprised she wasn't an American too. Kasumi wasn't very attractive and I have to agree, none of them really had boobs. LOL
The fights were pretty bad, I've seen better fighting on Unleashed/Danny The Dog.
What I don't understand is why they didn't make it animated like the endings.

I saw the film and was actually kind of impressed. They could've done a lot worse. Katsumi should've been played by an asian woman, chest or no chest. Helena was too young looking for her role and I was also dissipointed with the overall ending of the movie, it should've expanded things just a little more. Decent film though.

As a fan i think this movie was developed really well, i think there are movies that are made to salute fans and then movies that are INSPIRED by games and i dont care if ppl who dont know the game hate this, this movie was first and formost directed to the fans of the game. And im sure a large percent of us are extremely happy with it (maybe not with some of the character choices though).
There are a bunch of reasons why I dont like. First of all, I am a loving fan of this game series. 1) Why in the name of god do they have the f&@$ing lifebars?!!!!!! 2) a majority of the better characters in the game series, like Bayman and Jann Lee had 10 maybe 15 minutes of stage time 3) thegirls in this movie barely even look like they're video game counterparts (and I'm Not talking about the boobs).

See, the chances of finding women with bodies like the characters that can both ACT and FIGHT... good luck with that. Honestly, they would have been much better served doing it all in CG. Oh well, it's a 5/10 movie, much better than Street Fighter and (ugh) Double Dragon, at least.

It was an entertaining movie and all the characters were good enough to make the movie enjoyable if you aren't watching it for soft porn reasons. Great fight scenes, which is what I watched this for.
Dang hitomi's my favorite character. Really wanted to see her in this oh well. It was still a great movie 8.5/10

The review wouldve been better if you just said the acting is poor, martial arts are not worthy, Over-emphasized on the girls, Jann Lee gets beat by everyone although he uses JEET KUNE DO!, it is watered-down hollywood trash and has NOTHING to do with the game apart from its name and characters names and it makes Mortal Kombat look like it should've won an oscar!

Maybe because some of my comments regarding this movie seem immature for somebody my age, but when I see shit movies featuring actors that have no idea of martial arts and rely on Hollywood resources to help them get through a simple fight scene. That does not mean I disrespect other actors that earn't their martial arts fame the FUCKEN HARD WAY (ie. Norris, Seagal, J Chan, Jet Li etc.)

I know this movie is a pile of crap, along with all the resident evil movies, and other games that became movies! Only one that I think is the best movie from a video game might of been Silent Hill, but even that was bad! I do not think halo, or GTA are good games they suck, but Metal gear solid games are great! Nothing wrong if i like games, ages has nothing to do with it. But you said "games are fantasy and making a movie from a fantasy won't work well..." The majority of movies are fantasy!

I saw the film and was actually kind of impressed. They could've done a lot worse. Katsumi should've been played by an asian woman, chest or no chest. Helena was too young looking for her role and I was also dissipointed with the overall ending of the movie, it should've expanded things just a little more. Decent film though.

I was surprised you didn't mention that Ayane wasn't even Asian. Christie was hot? I thought her face was pretty rank to be honest. Leon was more himself than most characters, but Bayman was really wrong in the face. It's like they took some fat Hawaiian guys face and put it on the right body.

As a fan i think this movie was developed really well, i think there are movies that are made to salute fans and then movies that are INSPIRED by games and i dont care if ppl who dont know the game hate this, this movie was first and formost directed to the fans of the game. And im sure a large percent of us are extremely happy with it (maybe not with some of the character choices though).

There are a bunch of reasons why I dont like. First of all, I am a loving fan of this game series. 1) Why in the name of god do they have the f&@$ing lifebars?!!!!!! 2) a majority of the better characters in the game series, like Bayman and Jann Lee had 10 maybe 15 minutes of stage time 3) thegirls in this movie barely even look like they're video game counterparts (and I'm Not talking about the boobs).

See, the chances of finding women with bodies like the characters that can both ACT and FIGHT... good luck with that. Honestly, they would have been much better served doing it all in CG. That way, the guys get their big, bouncy boobs, and the action can be just as furious and energized as the game. Oh well, it's a 5/10 movie, much better than Street Fighter and (ugh) Double Dragon, at least.

I'm annoyed with nerds wanting to pull everything from the games/comics and put them in a movie. If boobs are your biggest worry with this movie, then you seriously need a girlfriend. It was an entertaining movie and all the characters were good enough to make the movie enjoyable if you aren't watching it for soft porn reasons. Great fight scenes, which is what I watched this for.
