I'd like to see all new buildings with solar roofs, like some housing tracks do in AZ. I'd like to see this as part of the building code. This demand would bring the prices way down, and create jobs. Other countries are trying to get this passed, but it hasnt so far, the contractors dont like the added cost.

I read the comments, thought about it and still like Cap&Trade.
If you want to move forward in technology you have to put up high prices and surcharges. Otherwise the companies will be lazy and do nothing unless it is too late.

Excellent letter. Like you and others, I've signed petitions, sent e-mails, sent letters, and called members of congress. However, I have had to refrain from calling because I get too angry on the phone and my normal professionalism gets thrown out the window. Oh well.

The problem with clean energy, is that we have the tecknowledgey now, like advanced geothermal systems, solar roof tops can power electric cars and trucks, and homes. The world must collective use these technologies now, and create the new bombing industry, but most of all have fair trade only, as t not tie all economies together. The only way any peoples can do anything, is with a true democracy. waiting for a politician to do it...just wont happen.

I agree with you, Solar roof panels could power electric cars, the only problem is scale, I would love to put solar panels on my roof, $30,000. Electric car-the only one I know of is the Tesla,$100,000 and 2 year waiting list.
Multiply that by 300 million people in the US.
They couldn't build solar panels fast enough for every house, not to mention building,transporting solar panels requires OIL. How are we going to replace 200 million gasoline cars?

There's quite a lot of different varieties of electric cars. Some are inexpensive. Some have alternators/generators that charge the batteries as you drive.
I'd like to see all new buildings with solar roofs, like some housing tracks do in AZ. I'd like to see this as part of the building code. This demand would bring the prices way down, and create jobs. Other countries are trying to get this passed, but it hasnt so far, the contractors dont like the added cost.

Well, so what, they only get a loan, and the buyer gets a loan to pay him. It's not actually costing anyone anything, labor only. The rest is just fiat debts being changed hands, no real cost at all. Bubbling an economy feeds people, only problem is the US is trying to bubble the world's resources for the paper debt of IOUs with interest. which Ironically this unbalanced trading causes inflation here.

I am with you Bro, I have been upgrading my house with energy efficent. The problem is the banksters are not makeing loans. That is why the Bailout is a fraud. You try to get a loan for a Tesla & a solar panel roof, even with goverment tax credit only wealthy with the best credit can.

I wrote a letter to Congress as well. Perhaps a less personal tone (although I called my Congressman "mad"), would work better. Maybe nothing works. Pelosi twists their arms and the Democrats fall in line.

I am fortunate enough to live in a state whose senators and congressional rep have/will vote against cap and tr8tor.
Won't get thru the Senate in my opinion.
How does a legislative body vote on bills that they have never read? To me that invalidates the legislation. Yes, I know there is nothing in the Constitution that specifically addresses this, but it is incomprehensible to me that this occurs.
I have a good idea, let's just gouge out their eyes and let them read it in brail.
