Regarding this torture..., if I remember well the scripture, Christians will not be tormented in order to bend, but only those who will accept the mark. These are most probably those who do not care a bit about it. Further, the mark must not be literarely 666 - it could be something else. And of course, you must be very aware of what to you are receiving.

@The3in1trinity "Original" texts like Papyrus 115 from Oxyrhynchus in Egypt. Its a fragmented manuscript of the New Tesatment written in Greek on papyrus around 225-275 CE It gives the number of the beast as 616 (ΧΙϚ), rather than 666 (ΧΞϚ).

I'd say 3rd century is fairly close to original. It took a while to decipher and was only published at the end of the 20th century it though so I'm not suprised people haven't heard much about it. I don't understand why people get so angry about one digit.

@The3in1trinity Of course I'm aware of that. But as you know, the bible we have today isn't the original text, is it? It has been changed many times over the centuries for various reasons. Therefore, earlier copies are probably closer to the original- hence fragments of the new testament from between 225-275 CE are likely to meet that standard. Yes the gospels was apparently written around some time in the first century, but the book of Revelations was written after that.

All the world, we r told, will run after him, except those that refuse his mark or worship the Beast or his image. Satan is smart but nothing like God!!! I can't see how that viewpoint is compatible with respect for others and their beliefs or lack thereof. @craggsy89 ROMANS 8:1-7-39. MARK 16:15-16. REVELATION shows that the Fall of Jerusalem in 70 a.d. is NOT the same as the attack mentioned in REVELATION. The attack in a.d. 70 saw the 2nd Jewish DIASPORA. The 1st Diaspora was when the Jewish ppl were carried off 2 Babylon. REVELATION states: REVELATION 20:7-9.

Aren't you suspicious that there are no texts inspired by the words of Satan? If there were, do you think they would be portrayed as a hero or a villain? Many of them probably thought that since slavery was in the bible, it was fine. A weak form of secularism was one of the driving forces in the fight against slavery. Many people support things because they were brought up to support them. Why do you think they're trying to teach creationism in schools? Because they're more likely to grow up as creationists.

If you're a Christian, and you commit suicide to avoid the Mark of the beast, you WILL go to hell. You must NOT commit suicide!!!

If you're NOT a christian, and you resist taking the mark of the beast 666, it is USELESS, you'll still go to hell. You need to Profess and Follow Jesus Christ, AND resist the Mark of the beast, to be saved!
