I just saw this at the Kentucky Theater a few days ago, it was a wonderful experience and I believe it was the first time it was shown in a cinema since it's re-release 20+ years ago!! I hope everyone else can see it in theaters =)

We had the little mermaid on vhs when I was a kid, after the movie there was a commercial for fantasia, can't believe I've never seen it actually.

I saw this rerelease in theaters! I believe the building of the movie theater where it was shown had a giant sorcerer's hat on it. Or in the parking lot somewhere, I forgot.

When I'm rich and famous, I'm going to direct my own version of Fantasia, but a better version. With the entire soundtrack from the Big 4 Thrash Metal, Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, and best of all Megadeth. An epic animated masterpiece in 3-D

There will be monsters, gore, explosions, pirates, ninjas, motorcycles and knife fights

Cameron and Zemeckis will most likely produced it.

@neotokyomedia The Blu-Ray will be released November 30th. No, the film should NOT be in widescreen. As far as I know, the only widescreen version of the 1940 Fantasia is when the film was re-released in SuperScope back in 1956. Hopefully, this release of the film will be uncensored and uncut.

yes, it sure is one of my favorites, too. it was the 1st film to have surround sound as well the 1st film to show music videos. i have that film on vhs restored as the 50th annivsary edition just like this trailer here. it's on master class and on my list. know about that film so much

Ah, Fantasia! As we all know, Walt Disney has made MANY innovations in film history. Including:

Steamboat Willie- the first sound cartoon,

Flowers and Trees- the first color photographed in Technicolor,

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs- the first ever feature length animated film, and

Song of the South- the first movie to put live actors in a cartoon setting.

But I have to say, Fantasia is the BEST film Walt Disney ever made. I will get the Diamond Edition DVD as soon as it hits stores!!

March 9, 2010 is the premiere of Fantasia on DVD and Blu-Ray AND you get 2 in 1, that means you get BOTH Fantasia & Fantasia 2000 in a first ever Diamond Edition Double Feature.

It's out of print, though. A few copies may possibly be floating around in stores out there, but for the most part, no Fantasia DVD has been available since 2003.
