  • My fathers friend's ide to paint this A319 in retro colors.. Pushed it last mounth :p

  • Then ?

  • @CombatSambo83 ROFL rickplaned hahahahaha:D

  • Ive heard they play metal non-stop in those planes

  • I was expecting the SAS to be whipping up on someone and not some plane from a land where the moose bite my sister

  • @dudewithpool

yep has been on a United and Delta (former NWA) Airbus and the seats was 10x times better than on a SAS Airbus. SAS is an overpriced airline I think and when Norwegian is going to fly longhaul in 2013 with 787 they gonna go out of business unless they are going to get bailed out again by the Scandinavian governments!!!

  • @ess4h I just found out that the plane I flew on was one of the last long haul 747s that have the old seats :( Some of the staff can be arrogant though. Improve on that, and meh they might be back up to International standards

  • Where is the Special Air Service?

  • @Dragonfloe hmmm i agree that emirates has to be one of the top, but so is qatar airways, and i never went onboard lufthansa before so idk but B.A. is not so bad i mean i didn't feel they were rude or anything at all and i was pretty comfy OwO and wut's QANTAS? OwO

  • Why is the righthand quarter of the screen black?

  • nice plane

  • hope they had a nice flight thanks to the serice

  • RR= Junk Engines.

    PW= Underpowered Engine

    GE= Godly Engines

  • The best airline for 2010\2011 are:

    Emirates airlines 1)

    Qatar airways 2)

    Malaysia airline 3)

    Singapore airways4)

    Etihad airlines 5)

    ANA Airlines 6)

    Kuwait airlines 7)

    Qantas airlines 8)

and Airfrance ...... Thumb up if u agree with me!!

  • Good job on this video, one of the best airplane video i ever see, Thanks again, i really love airplanes.

  • @MsELPerfecto LOL.

  • Its a tribute for the royal family in Denmark

  • thumbs up if SAS forces videos directed you here (and you thought this was an SAS anti terrorist mission)

  • @spartan1081990

    Me too haha!

  • @spartan1081990 thought so too X)

  • Omg i know this aircraft so well..... i made LR on it from CPH 100s of times. My favorite for numerous reasons... registration is the same as my initials, love the retro paint, and its not a bad plane to work with loading wise.

  • Boeing is much louder then airbus

  • i thought it was the sas as in the specian fighters

  • well

  • was expecting a bit more than just a plane taking off...

  • Nice vID

  • Nice. Last week I flew with the retro livery-A320 of Austrian Airlines (OE-LBP) from CPH to VIE, that was really nice as well.

  • This is the Christian Valdemar Viking, Reg # OY-KBO previously with a D reg of D-A VXK, named after the son of Denmark's crown prince and combined with the name Huge Viking, a hero in Scandinavian mythology.

It is one of the better aircaft in their fleet. However, aside from this plane's awesome livery scheme, you'll see a lot of other forms of "retro" on SAS's other planes, because their fleet is pretty aged. They used to be stellar, sadly they're now a low-lost airline with a high-cost price.

  • Is this a special a special air service?

  • Airbus antiterrorist ?

  • - much nicer design, that old retro!

  • i hate planes. whenever i fly in one SOMEONE ALWAYS has to sneeze or fart. its disgusting

  • @LOSVOLA2 And you cant spell, :)

  • @tibettintin and you can understand me =)

  • @tibettintin that should have been a full stop not a coma.

  • @xirux01 and why XIRUX you can fly an airplane manually why are you making negatives with fly-by-ware????

  • @xirux01 xirux always remember A-320 is good but why are you making bad explanation with Airbus i think your with boeing Airbus is good..... maybe the airline you mean doesnt take a body check up..^_^ i dont care if European companies will not buy but airbus safeties is the best....

  • if u got sucked into that jet engine u would come out the other end as ketchup !

  • it is Danish (OY)

  • enough arguing between airbus vs boeing all companies are great and reliable. both have made name for then selves. without them, moving people and cargoes would not be fast. all hail airbus and boeing.

  • @airboy1997 ??? didn´t A320 crash on Paris Airshow i can repeat and repeat this till you remember. And the key thing. It´wasn´t human fault. It´was the Aeroplane!!!

  • @xirux01 it was human fault he was doing a flyby too low and did not throttle up in time

  • 0:45 the design of the striping on the sides starts with a bough resembling something like a viking ship, imagine oars sticking out all the windows on the sides haha

  • it is oy-kbo

  • if it's not boeing, it's a death trap!

  • But you know, whenever I think of 737s I wont remember any of its reliability but its crashes, especially the rudder deflections. But when I think of A320 I remember its ergonomics, and economics not to mention its reliability. I think I'll definitely agree with Kendoproductions and airboy1997 for their opinion. Yours though, seemed pretty pathetic and is surely dry in facts. Anyhow regarding this video the A319 looked like an A318 Babybus due to the error in aspect ratio.

  • @jewelshare So you already forgotten about the A320 crash in Paris Airshow. I havn´t

  • @xirux01: Never forgot about it, it was just an error having idle engines, with flaps retracted while pitching the nose up of course what plane wouldn't stall with that practice? A320 crashes are caused mostly by pilot error. But the 737 is by its design, like the "D" concept destroys the main fan blades, the rudder deflection on thermal shock situations and the like...

  • @jewelshare Honestly, i know what happend whit the A320 sadley Airbus made a stupid mistake - and they are not alone the jas gripen a swedish fighter plane crashed twise because of the same problem "the fly-by-wire technology" Really i know when i read a bad stupid exuse and believe me Airbus and Airbus fanatics are full of it!! the European companies don´t buy airbus because they are the best - they buy because they are partially obligated to buy a few.

  • @xirux01 Its not an excuse really, its just an explanation based in logic and facts, which is the dead truth. There is nothing wrong with the "fly-by-wire" technology which is pioneered by the A320. In fact this made flying easier, having exact computerized calculations, optimized stall guards, and easy views of the flight instruments. Unlike the traditional clocks and gauges that makes it hard to understand and find. In fact modern airliners use this technology now as it reduces pilot work load

  • The aircraft in these videos look a bit squashed. Wrong aspect ratio.

  • OMG! It looked so oldfashioned! I mean the plane and its livery....

  • @mare68 I love it that they used the old design from SAS back in the old days on that plane, not often you get to see it. :)

  • a319 small a318 smaller lol

  • hahaha nice MAN!

  • this airplane is quiet aha

  • when did sas adopt a retro livery? - it looks cool...

  • SAS have had a retro-jet since the celebration of their 60th birthday in 2006.

The aircraft is named Christian Waldemar Viking after the first born child of HRH Crownprince Fredrik and HRH Crownprincess Mary of Denmark.

  • yea maybe ;o im not sure either O_o

haha, airline system sunds better :)

  • Comment removed

  • I was wondering lol yeah peace. The name says it hehe

  • Or maybe you'r retared cuz, Sas is a Scandinavian airline yuo'r idiot it's not British

  • its scandinavian airlines not british

  • sorry swiss is the only company to have no accidents :)

  • Please add "yt:stretch=16:9" (without the ") to the tag of the video, if I understand is right, it should solve the "Squashed" look

  • I think that SAS shuldent fly that one... its verry scary

  • wtf??

  • Comment removed

  • KLM is better!

  • Cramped seats, uneatable food, grumpy FA's. And the list goes on. I have flown with them four times. :/

  • ahh music to my ears.!

  • Too bad YouTube messed up the aspect ratio on the video.

I saw this one parked in Copenhagen's Kastrup Airport (CPH) in January, got a few good pictures/videos (I think), I'll upload them if I can find them.

  • it looks more like a 318

  • Great video, I like a lot th retro look of this viking. Can anybody see the plane's name next to the nose, I see only the last word "viking".

Guys, please stop arguing about which is better Airbus or Boeing. BOTH are awesome pieces of engineering. Each has their pros and cons, anyhow, lets keep enjoying seeing them lift off and land. I must said though that I am starting to feel a little uneasy about the number of airburs crashes around the world the same way I felt for the DC-10. thanks Simon!

  • "I must said though that I am starting to feel a little uneasy about the number of airburs crashes around the world"

Exactly how many have crashed ? and how many Boeing's (or others) have crashed in the same time frame ?

Per your logic we should all be seriously worried about B737's as 21 have crashed fatally since 2000, 'only' 9 Airbus planes (ANY model), have crashed fatally in the same period!

  • Thanks for your response AGrandt. Please do not get me wrong, I am actually a Structural Engineer and my knowledge in aerospace engineering is limited, but I must say though, that given that almost all systems of the Airbus technology is dependent on the computers and electronics, it potentially make them vulnerable when these systems crash, in the same way a laptop or ipod does. I do not want to create argument here, but it looks like Air France crash was one of these computer crashes. regards

  • I agree that this time it does look like the computers were one of the causes, apparently started with the Pitot tubes failing, all of them.

And the early Airbuses had computer problems as well, however I'd say that these computer systems may also have saved people, but we rarely hear about the non-crashes.

But complacency when it comes to depending on these highly reliable systems is a danger that is starting to become under scrutiny, if I understand it right.

    Regards

  • Hi AGrandt, just came to my mind, there was a case where the pitots where maskingtaped for an AeroPeru plane that crashed in the pacific. The pilots were given wrong readings on the real altitude of the plane and they couldn't save the plane, it was a 757. Also, speaking of computers failing, you might remember AeroFlot Flight 593. Kid allowed to play in the cockpit, Computer didn't like it. You can search it here under "kid in the cockpit"

  • As far as I recall those, the AirPeru flight was downed by $2 worth of duct tape, it was not discovered before take off as it was invisible from the ground.

Flight 593 was a pilot error due to a lack of understanding of the plane he was flying, the plane would have refused to crash had the pilot left the steering column alone, but pulling it in the opposite direction of where the plane wanted to go for X number of seconds disengaged all safeties. The plane was diving trying to gain airspeed.

  • Sorry for posting 2 replies.

I guess with the AirPeru and now AF447, the designers will have to rethink their instrumentation, it ought to be possible for the avionics to know when not to rely on those instruments, if their readings fall outside the expected range, for instance the airspeed drops to 0, or the plane is ascending, but the altimeter is not.

Btw, the failing instruments on the AirPeru and the AF447 were different; It was the altimeters on AirPeru, and the airspeed on AF447.

  • airbus rules the skies

  • I'm sorry, but Boeing are the best.

  • Boeing are crap - American's dont know how to fly.

  • BTW: Boeing.......

  • Icelandair, are you kidding me? This is by far the worst airliner I've ever flown with. Such a bloody experience never again.

  • Airbus = Comfortable

    Boeing = Cramped

  • true dat

  • @PhilipDK5800 Depend on how the airline configurate it.

  • @PhilipDK5800 its the airlines cabin layout not manufacturer

  • @PhilipDK5800 meh.. i was on an a321 and it was terribly uncomfortable

  • @PhilipDK5800 airbus = unsafe boeing = safe. CHECK THE FACTS....

  • @boazandjiacinth the Boeing 737 series was pretty much a deathtrap until the late 90's. Due to faulty hydraulics.

  • @boazandjiacinth its the oposite

  • Ugly aircraft. Hope it didn't crash, because nobody would want to get caught dead in the thing.

    Vive Boeing!!!

  • Nice paint. ugly plane. Must be Airbus. All Airbusses look like fat flying pigs. Boeing all the way!

  • SAS forever !

  • BOEINGFRENZY, Stfu, 3 hours in a A319. If you dont know shit what you are talking about, just shut that big mouth. If you are really a A319 pilot, you should know something like the basic sizes of the different airliners by Airbus. Even a Boeing 737's knows what a 777 is....

  • Of course it is OY! Instead of SE!

  • Nope, Finland is not a part of Scandinavia (but is a part of the Nordic countries). And they have Finnair.

  • They rule so much that have to use lobbist to bribe/force Congress into forcing the US. Airforce out off a contract with Airbus which was the US. Airforce first pick as their new tanker.

  • Airbus rule

  • small plane

  • this sas plane is painted with the old SAS DECALES/LOGO :D!

  • Good Video!!

  • I love those A319!

  • S.A.S??

  • Scandanavian Air System, the name changed some time ago

  • *Airlines

  • Quit nice and steep angle in my book!?

  • plane spotters...lol

  • i prefer boeing!!

  • This look's like a A319 with the Vintage SAS painting, but they forgot the black nose !

  • noseshape is same as all in the 319/20/21 series and also the length makes it obvious that its a A319. also only one overwing exit.. ;)

  • That is not a A330, first of all, the A330 is much larger widebody than a A319, and obviously much longer and fitted with Winglets similar to A340 and B744. if you are really a pilot, U know these birds. Im not a pilot but I know all kinds or airliners that's because I like Airplanes. XD Peace man.

  • this is not a A330!!! deffintely an A319.. :)

  • great Video, was the plane directed to copenhagen?:)

    5 *

  • how old is this video?

  • this plane looks SO cool in these colors!

    Love it!

  • Reminds me of the Lufthansa 321 i think a couple of years ago!

Think they should keep it like this!

  • Nice video

  • Thats some old colours of SAS! I have seen it on Gardermoen one time
