6:44 Oh man... that is so true. I get so many questions that make me feel that sort of awkward angst. People walk up and ask things like: "Gee I'd just love to know how/why you do this..." and all you can think is... Hmm... it took me years to answer that question... thousands of dollars of my own money... thousands of dollars of lost sales building prototypes... thousands of hours of my time... and if I tell you you'll go post it on your friggin twitter feed along with what you ate for lunch.
I love PRS, but I think he talks up the 'differences' far too much. He makes it sound like he could hear the difference between someone playing with a .75mm pick and a .74mm pick.
@Theseventhknight youd be surprised.. musicians with a very trained ear can hear subtle differences in tonality and the purity of the sound. its kinna like hearing a trumpet or saxaphone player. you know its miles davis just off 1 note.
@HendrixClaptonSRV Yeah. That's not what I'm talking about. I can hear Hendrix play given a quarter second, and the difference between a Les Paul and a Strat with no trouble at all. However, even though you could maybe see the difference in tone or sustain with a really sensitive spectrograph, you can't hear the difference between Grover and Schaller tuners, and the way he talks, he seems to think he can.
I've played a variety of PRS's with different finishes and the like--they sound like PRS's
He's fucking great. He just goes out makes a fucking guitar. Nothing too fancy about it. just great. Like imagine living that way. And I take it that he and his son are very close and that he also pokes around with the guitars.
He just explained at 3:15 why Martin guitars sound so good. They air dry the wood for at least a year before using it compared to companies like Taylor who stick the wood in an oven for an hour and start using it.
@jesse1291 he really is kindof annoying. he sits there like a retard in part 2 and then asks "how much is the modern eagle hahaha" its like wow way to make your dad look bad.
