  • lovely story will. happy running, man. hope to see you on the trails here in the uk one day.

  • Thanks for this video!! Thought situated at the other end of the world in Singapore. I was inspired by the Tarahumara to run after reading about them in Born to run one year ago. Ever since i have running running and running. I will be doing my first 100km ultra next weekend and i really wanna say thank you to the Tarahurama people for inspiriing me.

  • What a great story. It shows that mexico is more than just drug cartels and violent shootings. It's a place where human spirit still lives. Good job.

  • Great video and congratulations on finishing 1st. I just finished reading Born to Run, and from how the Copper Canyon race is described in that I think it's an incredible achievement that you have done. Big respect for all you Ultra guys and girls

  • There is hope still for humanity with guys like this around... So much time and respect for this.

This video just blew me away... Thanks for uploading it !

  • Felicidades tu si eres un ganador.

Congratulations you are a real winner.

  • Great video, thanks for sharing

  • Cool story and awsome video. That was very nice of you to give it all back. I can tell by your kindness you are a great man. And a cash prize means nothing. To us who have just a little bit more than others.. God bless you and be safe on you runs..

  • Back in the 1940's in Mexico, my mother remembers a tarahumara who had walked/ran a very long distance was a friend of my grandmothers. These Native mexicans are an inspiration and a source of pride to me. I think I'll go for a run.

  • Thank you for this very moving video!

  • thank you for this sharing! beautiful and inspiring...

  • Awesome video!

@eparssa Shame on you. You are a racist! How about some respect for the Raramuri people, jerk!

  • Great video and Will seems like a great guy on top of being a great runner.

  • tearjerker!!

  • What a beautiful story...awesome people! What a true inspiration, speechless...

  • So, this whole thing is about him bragging about how awesome he is and how he outrun these little brown people who were supposed to be the "best of the best"? I bet the only artwork or decorations in this guy's house are life-sized posters of himself and full-length mirrors.

  • @eparssa I do not understand why you made that comment about Will. Do you even know any ultra runners? Ultra runners are humble people who have respect for each fellow runners. When you are running 50 miles, 10 miles or more you have no room for selfishness. You should try running an ultra and see how it will change your attitude and outlook on people, FOR LIFE.

  • @minuteman2006 Well said! One of the main things that draws me into ultra running is the camaraderie and yes every since i got into ultras alot of perspective on things changed definitely for life!

  • @eparssa Wow! Your comment was a complete FAIL!

  • Could you please put some subtitles in spanish for my friends in mexico to read? that would be awesome!

  • Will Harlen is an awesome man! Not because he is a great, great runner that happened to win this race, but because he is obviously an even greater person with "ultra" character! I am so impressed with his humble attitude and reverance for the Tarahumara!

  • amazing video. it got me in the mood for running.thank you for posting this.

  • Fantastic. Thank you.

  • Thank you so much for this inspiring video. God willing, I will be participating in 2011 and look forward in being part of an event of this caliber. Congrats on your win and I can only imagine the feeling(s) you must have had while running this event. It sounds like you had a deep spiritual connection with the 10 year old boy during the race. That is what ultra is about, spiritual connections with one self and others.

    Run free,

    Jorge Orozco

  • that was wonderful, thanks for sharing. amazing stuff.

  • This is truly beautiful, Will. Words to cherish.

To the makers of the film, I want to suggest that you acknowledge Marcos Ferros, whose several photos you have featured here. He has been generous in sharing them with Norawas de Raramuri and deserves all credit and thanks.

  • This is great Rod!

  • This brings 'Born to Run' to life. The grace and dignity of the people is truky inspiring and a lesson for us all.

Will - you never cease to amaze me, not only your running, but also your love for others.

  • So amazing and inspiring... would like to see more about this...
