Far from willing to troll, but the idea that a musician doesn't need to be skillful to express himself is rather weird. Music is a language you need to learn if u want to use it.

I am sure a lot of teens, pop stars and djs would agree with your idea tho. It's common thinking nowadays, mostly among non-musicians.

My position is different.

Just as much as I wouldn't want to walk over a bridge built by a butcher, I don't like music made by scarcely skilled players.

It does matter.

@SquigglyJ0e i agree with you as a musician..but playing the devils advocate..surely the key goal with music is how it sounds..no what level of skill is used in the playing of it..look at the ramones..and this sounds sound really damn good,,,surely that's more important

It doesnt matter if the chords are complicated or easy, who the people are collaborating with, how long the people would last, nothing matters except for how beautiful the music is, how the guitar, piano, and vocals make you feel, and how this song puts you in a peaceful and serene process of thought. this is music, its meant to inspire, and to move you, to make you close your eyes and envision your past and present and build to a better future. it may be simple but its simply beautiful

Don't take this the wrong way but strumming a few basic chords isn't exactly 'playing the guitar' so on the evidence of this video I don't think John McLaughlin will be quaking in his boots. A few weeks solid practice would get most people up to this standard. Have a go!!
