if the OS doesn't use multiple cores, it is useless. But since newer OSs do use more cores...

you just replied to a 1 year old comment, I don't remember it.
and no, a multiple cpu's are not useless. Unless the OS can't make use of multiple cores and thus can't command programs to use multiple cores.
