I have just understand few minutes ago that the song was about ELLIS ISLAND the place in new york the immigrants have to go in their arrival in the US
Incredibly beautiful song forward in a very poetic and beautiful way with the best and most beautiful voices Ireland can obtain. And a fabulous show. This song has come to mean something special to me. My grandfather landed on Ellis Island in 1911 as an immigrant from Denmark. I am overwhelmed and feel with Annie Moor standing alone, scared but hopeful - at the age of 15 years - in this new unknown country. Thanks to Celtic Woman for this performance.
@KJH24oktober1952 Annie Moor was not alone, she had her two little brothers with her and they traveled to the U.S to reunite with their parents that had come to the U.S two years before them (fact found from Wikipedia)
This is celtic powa dude ! I'm not either irish, worst than that, I'm BRETON (not briton), the largest celtic territory^^ Celtic music instruments are a God gift !
Es una de las baladas más hermosas que he oido jamás. Y cantadas por estos tres bellezones qué voy a decir. ¡¡¡Qué voces!!! ¡¡¡Qué maravilla!!! Cada vez que la oigo se me pone la carne de pollo. ¡¡¡Chicas, sencillamente magnificas!!!
Amazing!! The Uilleann pipe, flute and violin are such a magic combination in traditional Irish music. Gives me the shivers everytime again! And Chloë sure is beautiful. How i wish i had a girlfriend like her. Looks and voice of an agel...
@onnio1 Look a little further down for more details, it has been asked and answered previously. They are called Uilleann pipes and is a type of bagpipe native to Ireland.
Giving Chloë the lines "I Thought Of How It Must Have Been, When You're Fifteen Years." is a brilliant piece of arrangement, when you think a little back. She was 15 at the time of the first performance of Celtic Woman at the Helix on September 15, 2004.
@Sportymike To elaborate further. It's a type of bagpipe distinguished from the Great Highland Bagpipes (Scottish bagpipes that are almost synonymous with the term bagpipes) by the use of bellows strapped around the waist and right arm to inflate the bag rather than the player blowing into it while playing.
Talk about a beautiful song !!! Everything comes together so perfect in this song with each instrument and of course the girls are extremely talented. Well done yet again Celtic Woman !!!!
I think she moves a lot and graciously through the stage... perhaps not in this particular song, but in Carolina Rua she is amazing... She's a great singer!
I think Lynn's style of music does not involve movement and telling a story with her face. Her music is in her voice. I really like that about her. Like in Non ce piu, she is the best in the group
@iam2sweet29 I think she isn't the best member of the group.. oké she is good, but she doesn't have the excitement that the others members have, and that's is taking her down in my head
I thought it was just me who noticed these things! Glad I'm not alone. I know what you mean with Alex, as for Lynn, I don't really get a bad vibe, more just that she seems really stiff onsage compared to the other girls. Almost like she's nervous to be up there.
Lisa kelly (girl singing second), Chloe Agnew (girl with long hair and she sings first), Alex Sharpe (girl singing last) and Lynn Hilary (girl singing third)
this must be one of celtic woman's best songs? beautifully sung.a real classic song, can reduce you to tears!

Saw them live in concert last Saturday night in Sydney.
If you think they're perfect and gorgeous on a screen/monitor, you should see them live!!!!
And as for Mairead Nesbitt ..... it's time for this aging gent to take a cold shower!!!!
Tissues galore for this song (The New Ground / Isle Of Hope, Isle Of Tears). Streaming tears by the end, not ashamed to admit it.
