ESPECIALLY if you put it on manifolds. i was going to say valve cover leak onto manifold, which was my problem. damn thing still leaks today (its warped and i never got around to replacing the passenger side one, and i was too cheap to duble gasket it. even though now that i think about it 327 rocker cover gaskets are cheaper than a tube of silly-cone.)
hey man i have a 92 25th anniversary 3.1 and im wanting to put a 350 out of a 89 k 1500 gmc truck. this motor and 700r tranny was in a 3rd gen. camaro before. can i use the computer out of the truck and hook it up to my wiring harness? all in all will this be very hard or near im possible to do??? thanks for your time and please respond

in went to oriellys and bought the after market tach like you suggested ran the wire to the distributor and one to the fuse box grounded it out and pressto it works nice but i still plan on fixing the factory tac im going to check for a short soon because when i turn the dome light on the tach in the daSH stops working.if i got a hot wire grounding out wont that throw the factory tach out of wack.i think its in the head light switch or else they hooked the factory tach up to a random hot wire
i have the same car pulled the tpi out went to carburated but the tach is reading twice as much as its is running in rpm,s why is it doing that and how can i fix it
Try an aftermarket tach.You can get them all day long for under 100 dollasrs. It maybe that the capasitors are bad in the stock tach. To fix it you can also get replacement tachs that will fit right in were the stock one is.

Very good. I've got a 3.1L 1991 RS that I hope to put an LT1 in some day. My dad has a spare 1996 Caprice LT1 laying around that I may buy a tranny for. I'm probably not going to hook up the A/C though. Also, I hope it doesn't take 8 months to do for me.

The motor is actually out of a 1990 Van. It is a 350 5.7L Throttle Body. Your 3.1 should also be a throttle body. We went with the 1990 motor because this kept the computers nearly the same. We still had to re-pin the connectors but it actually wasn't that bad lol

yeah me and my day swapped my 88 camaro from a 2.8 fuel injected. To a 305 with a carb. With a turbo 350 trans.

That really depends on the engine. Call around to the engine shops for a price. I know that the trans will bolt right up to a v8
all you should do is get a different trq converter for the trans.
