  • I wish I had $250.000.

  • Lenin. My hero. It's amazing how one man changed the world forever

  • Wtfuuuuccckkk! why in the free world to we have a statue of LENIN in seattle! this pisses me off, he caused a famine that murder his own people among the thousands of other atrocities fuckin unreal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @geoff1424 He caused a famine? A Famine happened due to a 3 year civil war, and this famine was used as a political tool to motivate the rest of the Red movement. The "atrociousness" of Lenin is nothing when compared to the atrocities committed by Romanovs for hundreds of years, and was nothing when compared to the conditions facing many Russians of the time. The Red Revolution is betrayed by Stalin who commits the heinous acts that the Soviets are blamed for, and Lenin wanted Stalin dead.

  • @pulpficfan1

Lenin called peasants "petty bourgeois" and starved millions of them after subjecting them to slavery. The gulags were Lenin's creation. You Lenin apologists are a sick joke.

  • @pulpficfan1 yes he caused a famine intentionally you dumbass, dont ask me if he caused a famine review some historical facts ya fuck, dont minimize Lenon and maximize Stalin, his communist philosphies led to death and destruction, a sick megalomaniac and if you support him in any way i hope you receive the great rewards of and fruits of his teachings personally! enjoy the gulag you fuck

  • @geoff1424

I agree, Geoff. The allowance of the statue of mass-murderer Lenin to be erected in Fremont is another symptom of the deliberately dumbing down of Americans.

  • Elites of the world unite!

You have nothing to lose but your workforce!

  • @EmptyMellon Art can be a negative symbol. I assume you're rational and believe, like me and all sane americans, that just because something is offensive doesn't give it any less right to be displayed. Effigies, shrines, and celebratory monuments are in a different category. I don't think anyone in control in Fremont means this as a celebration of Leninism, Trotskyism, or any other ism. Its a large bronze carving of representing a revolutionary. Do indians get mad at statues of Explorers?

  • @EmptyMellon You again completely disregard the distinctions I'm making. Saddam and Adolf=Shrines. Hell I'll even grant you Lenin properly placed in certain parts of the world=Shrine. In the artsy neighborhood of Fremont, WA....ART. And as I stated in the last post, having any knowledge of the economics or historical issues is irrelevant to Art. Art is outside of that realm of judgment, unless you disagree. Experiencing first hand Soviet cruelty does nothing for this issue...

  • @EmptyMellon You seem to be completely missing the point and conflating things that aren't the same. The Hussein statue in Baghdad and a theoretical Hitler statue that's 20 feet were/would be shrines or celebratory monuments to people who deserved no such celebration. A work of art is something far different than a monument. And trust me, I'm fully educated in the macroeconomic history of socialism, capitalism, communism and all of their variants. That's besides the point though.

  • @EmptyMellon I work for a large financial institution's investment branch. I can assure you, if anyone embodies capitalism, it's me. However, the statue is a work of art representing a man far more significant to the world than you or I could ever be. Good or bad he represents one of the most significant movements in world history. He along with Karl Marx was the leader of a movement that spread throughout the world. It's simply art. Don't show your insecurities by becoming so upset.

  • why is their a lenin statue in seatle

  • @xxmcneilxx

Lewis Carpenter, while teaching in Porad, Slovakia, found the sculpture lying face down after the 1989 Revolution. Carpenter purchased the statue and brought it to Washington state. It is now displayed in the Fremont district of Seattle. It is for sale for $250,000.

You will find more info in Wikipedia - 'Statue of Lenin (Seattle)

  • @xxmcneilxx why not?

  • I really would have wanted such a statue like this on the grounds of Bartlett or Diamond High Schools in Anchorage, Alaska!!!!

  • Fascinating... Im gonna try to see this the next time I'm in town...
