Among other things, it's a digg button in the physical world. Very cool concept in my book (and, i can say this because it wasn't my idea :)

Check out digg com. it's a social filtering site where clicking on a "digg" button associated with an online thing represents a vote of approval. Larger totals get more prominence. But, it's virtual ... the Digg Button lives in the physical world.
