  • I would never think that I would want to try to make this but it looks so easy and my mother loves eggplant, and I love most things with tahini so I'm determined to try and go over and cook this for my mother! She'll especially love it when I mention I learned it from our favorite Next Food Network Star finalist

  • You have a British accent. I thought you might have been raised in the UK.

Did you got a British system school then?

  • i went to jess and dubai college so it rubbed off on me!

  • Haha I knew it!

I was ALMOST going to say that :P

  • @aartipaarti congrats on winning next food network star i was rooting for you the whole way. herb and serena too

  • @remohereg Lol

  • Ya, she probably did. and I'll bet she would like it better than participating in a a civilization that would probably stone her to death or cut her throat for wearing make-up. In fact, I would bet she would be a much different woman If she were raised a real Muslim. She would probably had been married with out her consent to a man 20 years older than her self and then stoned to death for accepting the fact that she is a free woman not bound to any man or religion.

  • I lived in Dubai for about 15/16 years then moved to Sharjah. Now moving back to Dubai again within the next 2 weeks. :)

    What brought you to Dubai?

You need your own tv show btw.

  • thankyou!!

my dad got a job in dubai before i was born! so i was born in india, then moved back to dubai within a month of being born. then stayed there until i was 18!

  • @aartipaarti and you got your show! Congrats! It's great :)

  • @SarahMJJ wow you say she needs her own show and a year later, she gets one

  • @SarahMJJ "You need your own tv show..."

Dang, you called that one didn't you? :-)

  • get rid of your stupid hippy freak husband and marry me

  • brendan is the coolest man i know so, sadly, that's not going to happen. thanks for the proposal though!

  • @aartipaarti Aarti and Brendan make an adorable couple! White boys and desi girls go well together. My wife and I can attest to that fact :)

    cheers Aarti!

  • @SHMUJEW OOOH! rejected! lolz

  • Hi Aarti. I live in one of your homes, the UAE. Your videos are cute and informative. Thanks for sharing.

  • thanks so much sarah! where do you live? dubai?

  • I was looking specifically for a baba ganouj recipe here on YT and there you were :)

  • yippeeee! let me know what you think of my other videos too!

  • Gorgeous dish made by a gorgeous woman !

  • Great attitude, good cooking.

Frying eggplant seems to take so much oil, this can be just as delicious.

I like it with more chopped in as a spread.

  • Awesome!!!!!!

  • Aarti. Your eggplants look Delicious!! I'd love a taste :~D

  • @supertoe1 By eggplants I hope you mean the fruit O_o (yeah, eggplant is technically a fruit since it has seeds, vegetables have no seeds.)

  • Aarti!! MORE (please) from Aarti Paarti!! How about Humas & Tahini next... then possibly a curry or two? LOVE it. ( :

  • Super tasty.

  • fantastico! love the whole thing. you look beautiful...love the titles... and i learned things! eggplant makes my tongue swell so i might not make this but i love the charring method! can't wait for number two!

  • Good Show, Aarti! BUT I'm with Brendan on the taste side of it all.

  • Weeeeeeeeee....Rich and I just watched this together (second time for me). Still looks yummy since the last time I saw it. Nice work on the video itself. :) Can you make some indian dishes on video?

  • Nice job Aarti! I never knew you could cook eggplant that way. It would be neat to see some serving suggestions after the dish is done.

  • Way to go Aarti.

    I want me some.

    I'll shoot for food !

  • Yay! and Yum!

  • Really good show Aarti. I am sure that this is the beginning of good things. I know that everyone agrees.

  • You Rock! I want to come to an Aarti Paarti. Can you teach us to make chicken tika marsala. I love that!

  • so fantastical!

  • ack sorry, i'm always logged onto youtube so my comments were from mum!

but yes so very good - not liking baba ghonej is insane in my opinion :P

  • Also, a brilliant Karen Forman cameo.

  • thanks for the shout out Ryan!

  • This is great!!! So fun to watch!!! This may be planting the seeds to expand my diet beyond oatmeal and subway.

  • You are awesome.. I Love the simplicity :)

  • Now I wish that I hadn't put the garlic into my eggplant dip that we ate last night. I can still taste it this morning. Ugghh!

  • Looks really yummy and so easy. Looking forward to more cooking demonstrations on aartipaarti.

  • Lovely demo Aarti. I can almost taste it all these miles away. I am sure it tastes as good as it looks.

We are awaiting more installments on aartipaarti!

I am so proud of you!!

  • fantastic -- love opening titles. love b's cameo too.

  • Loved this, Aarth! Can't wait for the next one.

That is so cool. No garlic? So easy!

I just happened to have made an eggplant mush. I roasted two medium sized eggplants for 50 min & then mushed `em up with a couple cloves of smashed garlic, salt & pepper. I didn't feel like adding lemon & I didn't put in tahini. I've left it to sit in the fridge for the last day & am anxious to try it for dinner tonight. We're going to have it with sesame lavash crackers & a big salad.
