Roberta Flack's version is the most popular and successful. This, however, is very good, mainly because it seems like it was physically impossible for Andy Williams to screw up a song.

Written by Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel, it was first released by Lori Lieberman in 1971, then Roberta Flack in 1973. it has been covered by at least 40 artists, the Fugees in 1996 as one of the more recent (Susan Boyle the most recent). So how can anyone ever call the Fugees the original version, half of the music we hear today are covers, just that no one has bothered to look up who wrote it. Thats what Wikipedia is for..........
