I love chiptunes, and the Gameboy can produce some really awesome sounds, but I really don't understand why you'd want to have it make sounds like this, it just sounds like when one of your SNES carts got fucked up and blared sounds out of your TV speakers, haha.
Am I missing the point, or is this all circuit bending has to offer?
circuit bending is awesome and I want to learn some day . . . but there are just some things that are sacred . . . why would you decimate a brick gameboy?
@yukikoforevernoise There easy to get hold of, at the market near where i live, they crop up reularly for £12 for 1 with 2 games and £15 for 1 with 3 games. Gameboy colours are about £8 so its awsome for me!
Iv been trying to do some bends on a gameboy now for a while but didnt get far. Iv tried crossbending it with a tr-505 with little success. Could you give me any hits where to start?
Sorry for being dim but if I opened up a piece of electronics, it would just look like a jungle to me. I wouldn't know what to connect to. I understand that you use potentiometers and switches (maybe other things?) but like I said I don't know a power circuit from an audio or video circuit. Where would a guy like me start to experiment?
I wouldn't reccomend a gameboy if you don't have a lot of experience, because you can fry it very quickly! Other than that just go ahead and experiment!
the screen looks nice, as does the blue LED meter thingie. its cool how the visual goes along with the sonics... I'd like to see a close-up video of the GB's screen in action.
Thanks.. The blue LED is auctually ultra violet, and the needle in the meter has been painted with flourecent paint.. Looks really nice in the dark! I guess I can make a close-up of the screen..

The brown box is connected to various points in the gameboy.. The keyboard is modulating the clock of the GB..

For those who didn't get it, look inside the VU meter
Awesome man! I wish I had a fraction of the engineering skill you have. Your vids are just inspiring! XO

Thanks alot! Ah, I would't call it an engineering skill, I'm just experimenting and having fun! You can too!
