For me this non tablet style appeals to me because I'm a little leary of the moving swivel parts of a tablet. If i'm going to get a netbook and this will be my second one, (my present model is a Lenovo s10) why not have the option. "-)
I really like the Lenovo s10-3t and Aeus t101 tablet but honesly, the comments about the cracked screen and poor customer service for replacements have me concerned.
I agree with you. A touchscreen on a netbook smells more of a gimmick than something that will be useful for computing. If HP made the 5102 into a convertible like the tm2, then that would have been awesome.

Thank you for your awesome review!

you are always talking about the "options". but where can i actually configure my own 5102 to meet my needs?
can you tell me how to get access to the hdd? is there a door or do you have to open the casing?
nice review btw :-)

@raoul4 Go to HP site > small n medium Business > HP Mini > Mini 5102 config your model. Be careful cause it get real expensive as you add options.

This review doesn't show the audio capabilities of HP 5102, or what is the quality of the integrated webcam?
Does 5102 have integrated stereo speakers? Or to use Skype, you have to plug in earphones?

To make the function keys via a function button, you simply need to change it in the BIOS! This is not a bug, it's feature =)
