yep - they were. they belonged to a pond about 1/4m away and wound up in the middle of downtown brampton's busiest intersection. they had to be herded all the way back to the nearest creek feeding into the pond. we found out afterward that by the time they got there, one of the little critters was so exhausted it kept sitting down and eventually had to be picked up over mama duck's strenuous objections and carried to the edge of the creek where it could rest before taking the water.
