Lliam and Claire had it really easy in the circle of death! When i did that on the easiest difficulty 1 lvl under the recommended lvl they threw nothing but Elder and Alpha skag's at me at first and near the end of the battle 2 Badass Fire Skag's came out when there were still 3 to 4 Alpha Skag's left.

Never sell the artifacts OTG they stack on each other so if u have level 1 fire when u get another fire artifacts click on it and it will go to level 2 fire and so on. Its the same with all 4 elements.

actually on my playthrough i could only have level 2 with my corrosive artifacts, do i have to get better ones or is 2 the max?

@Maxumaru As far as I know you can go to level 3 of any artifact. When you get a higher level artifact and equip it you can never equip a lower leveled one again.

@XxXpheniox you can goto Six, what i don't understand about them is how the levels are ranked via the artifacts.

I've had about 10 explosive artifacts but 6 of them don't stack. they are too low leveled.

I found the cap via gamfaqs.

You already discovered that you can click the artifact diamond in the skill menu when you got your first artifact, and you forgot about that already?

If i remember correctly you even realized that you could change artifacts there

For some reason, even a 900 damaging rocket launcher doesn't work properly for me. It seems much more effective to snipe at turrets from afar, than to rocket them.
